It's obvious that Moyes will be our new manager and he has agreed to sell Modric for £35m plus Drenthe

The plus one from Madrid could be a loan player, this is the only way i could see us getting anyone we could be happy with in the deal?

Yes. That was the phrase for May. In June we are saying "fuck off you rat faced ****, don't rate you anyway"

Sound logic! (y)

I don't actually think in theory, it's any harder to keep Modric than it was last year but the problem was, we never had concrete bids from abroad, or not to an extent whereby it was a realistic proposal.

As i've said, a happy Modric here under a new regime would be wonderful but after that, a move abroad (Madrid) is by far the next best thing and if we can somehow prise away someone of Sahin's quality plus more money than Levy can wheelbarrow away then i'd support that wholeheartedly!

Bye-bye Modric, Hello Sahin???? My fingers and toes are crossed... But can't imagine Madrid paying £35 + Sahin. We will probably end up with Granero :(

Madrid were happy to pay 70 million for Ronaldo. I don't care what anyone says, no one is worth that much. However, if they were prepared to pay it, 35 mill for Modric isn't so far fetched.

As to what he is worth, he is worth as much as the buying team(s) is/are prepared to pay for him.

yes and Ronaldo has paid off half that sum with his goals and sales of his shirts and those goals helping to win the title. so he was worth that to them. now i am a spurs fan and i have watched Modric play like you have too. i am merely saying the ITK was not truelly believeable as he is not worth that much. i accept that you say he is worth what we want for him and what the opposing team is willing to pay.

the issues have been side tracked as i doubted the Goats info on this one firstly and used the price and plus player exchange as being rather questionable. nonetheless were the Goats info to be correct then it would be tidy business on the part of the club BUT i am doubtful that this is indeed the case. i also looked at the Khedira and Ozil signings ( price paid) to inform my decision in this regard. what was it they paid for Alonso when Liverpool were asking a rediculous sp. figure was it 25 million only ??? when liverpool were qouting something like 35 million if i am correct on the numbers, can't be sure though.

What's wrong with ending up with granero?

Good player... But not equal to Mods.... He would slightly weaken our first team! IMO Sahin would be an improvement. However i wouldn't say no to having Granero in our Squad!

The Modric situation and the identity of new manager is interesting.

- If Blanc gets the gig, then Cabaye has to be the favourite to fill the void.

- If it is AVB, then surely he'll want Moutinho.

- And the Madrid option is likely to be Sahin.

Cabeye, Moutinho and Sahin would all actually be pretty decent replacements for Modric (and we'd probably end up about £20m up).
