There are plenty of signings that have gone wrong - I imagine you would have liked to have taken the likes of Veron, Crespo, Schevchenko when they moved but some signings just dont work out for various reasons. That said I always thought Carroll was poor - saw him play at WHL a few times and every time he was dominated by our CBs.

I suspect that means the 'Carlo to Watford' rumour no longer has legs, and he may well be staying another season with is.

I was under the impression that Sczescny wasn't in any question as their number 1? I can't realistically see them spending how ever many millions on Lloris, considering they've already spent so much on forwards and are rumoured to be trying to improve their midfield as well.

I hope you're right!
But no different to us spending how ever many millions on a keeper when we already have 3 in our squad and we are also looking to improve upfront and in midfield.....

They wouldn't be even if Levy paid the full whack Aulas is asking for. With what he's actually prepared to shell out they'd have to be tiny.
