Aaaaand that's a wrap folks!! So we agreed a fee for our main target? The one our new manager was desperate for? Excellent!!!!


So where is he? POTUGAL??

All in all we have brought in some great players in this window, but loosing vdv is just criminal. It remains to be seen how well these new signings can gel.

In my opinion this window has to be seen as disappointing

We've lost 3 of our 4 best players and although we have brought in some decent players we have not really replaced 2 of them and I feel Levy has to take the blame once again for a failed window.

2 winter windows in a row has cost us CL football, we've already thrown 2 games away due to not getting our business sorted soon enough and now we have sold the heart beat of our team without replacing him.

OK Demebele can play there perhaps but him and Sig were meant to be the repalcements for VDV

Dempsey is the cheaper short term Remy option who covers Ade and Lennon (kinda)

But the biggest deal of the window was to replace Luka, he made our team tick and someone had to replace him. The fact we failed to do so means Mr Levy has ultimately failed this window, regardless of the good work he did do.

Its by no means as doom and gloom as many are suggesting, but it really wasn't good enough or should I say it was not as good as it should have been.

JM should not have gone this close to the wire, it should have been resolved for better or worse with time to go to plan b if needed.

This alone would be bad enough, but palatable if the replacement for Modric - a player we all knew was going - had come in, since he was apparently the manager's #1 target.

Nope.

Moutinho IS the difference between a good or bad window. Absolutely. If he was AVB's #1, Levy should have backed him to the hilt

I'm just quite looking forward to seeing how it's all going to work.

I think we just need to give it a chance.

It's a far cry from a "disaster" that some of you are making it out to be. Bunch of Milquetoasts, to borrow a SS57 phrase.

I think, pound-for-pound, our team is still at least as good as Arsenal's, if not better. They might have a slightly (and I mean SLIGHTLY) better midfield, but we've a better defence, keeper, and striker(s), IMO.

And if they can make a go of it and come top 4 every year, why can't we?

It was verified by the FA the next day but everything was agreed and paperwork submitted before the deadline that with Rafa. We havent agreed terms or anything this time, its off.

i'm gutted VDV has gone. I don't mind sig and dempsey but there not in the same league as him.
We still need a cover for bale and lennon which we have needed for the last 1000 windows.
We didn't replace modric properly although i think dembele will be a good player for us.

Argh i can't work out if we've done good or bad. Is our squad capable of a top 4?? Is it better than last seasons?

That's what pisses me off. We had a chance to improve albeit slightly, but we fucked it up. And I can't help but feel it's all been to plan either. I'm sure I'm wrong and that everyone at the club tried.. But surely we should have tried harder.
