So much negativity on here. We've signed some cracking players. Moutinho may or may not come but we've brought in quality at good value. And if there's a net profit, sobeit. Stadium doesn't pay for itself. We're not made of money and have made a pretty good window. Moutinho would make it near perfect (given the outs which were out of our hands)

Yes Dembele and Dempsey were Fulham but they they were the very best of Fulham. Both awesome players. One dynamic and powerful, the other gutsy and - quite frankly- prolific.

Good additions.

Modric and VDV wanted out. Fuck 'em.

Lloris. Vertonghen. Sigurdsson. Dembele. Dempsey. Adebayor.

We coulda used Llorente, but never mind.

Well done DLevy.

Mediocre window, some quality in, but a lot of quality gone too, nor sure the ins balance the outs...
Window promised so much more, which makes it worse.
I think with what we have, we'll be 'ok', about UEFA positions level (5th-7th). I had hoped with all the window promised, we were going to bounce back and really go after 3rd (too soon for top two, one step at a time), but I feel we've taken a backwards step.
And since we've been here before, sadly I don't expect us to learn the lesson from it for future windows...
The only time I recall us having a more structured transfer strategy in terms of timing and targetting potential, not trying to buy the finished article on the cheap was during Arnesen's tenure...

Time for Naughton, Smith, Caulker, Carroll, Falque, Townsend, Lancaster, Couilbailly and Kane (if still here) to step up to the plate. Taking the positive if possible, chance for our youngsters to shine. Failing that, anyone out there out if contract..?

What happened to the talk of Real Madrid players coming...?

okaaaaayyy, I am disappointed that Moutinho has not materialised. Unfortunately this is what can happen if you leave things late. Sounds like it was the agents, probably trying to screw us for a hefty fee? who knows.
I think we have enough quality to challenge top four but in January we need to go back in and give ourselves much more time for manouvering.

Or complete bollx from Levy. I want a Porsche for a fiver but it ain't happening. Levy plays us

I'll lose this post in the overall thread. Dembele ran the show at OT last week with a substantially worse team than we have. How many times has Luka done that? Taken a game a grabbed it by the balls for 90 minutes?

Granted the guy is a wizzard on the ball, but I think we've signed a monster. Have a little faith. COYS

Dempsey is a very good player and I am happy we have him.

But he is a nice bonus. Moutinho was the meat and potatoes and we've failed to secure him, so now we will go hungry for at least four months.

so we have defo signed Frances No 1 and the Ajax captain, plus three other quality players and we've faiiled and Levy is the devil? My word.......

I respect your connection with Levy and I don't hold him entirely accountable, but in your opinion do you think that we have a better or worse team that last season? I know which one I'd opt for.

January will be interesting!!!

The only way we will actually spend anything is if we are in trouble and the new manager demands it as part of his agreement for taking over from AVB!

Seriously though, January will be even more frustrating because we will see this sides failings from now until then and still won't address them.

It's the never ending story

Fair enough but we sold modric, vdv and several squad players and lost king. And weren't really desperate for a keeper. Not an awful window maybe but certainly not great. Only avb can really assess it

And yes, not getting in 2 quality CMs to replace VDV and Modric is far from ideal. I guess we'll just have to hope that whilst we've lost some individual quality, we'll be greater than the sum of our parts as a team. That's why H was given the elbow and AVB taken on right?

I honestly think people need to get a grip!!

Say we signed Moutinho and Lloris today. the only players with a history of getting in the double figures of goals would be Adebayor, Defoe, Bale, (verts) and potential of Sig if he plays! Mouts wouldnt have got more than 5 goals, yes he would have created and is a wicked player but we have signed a SOLID proven player in Dempsey who has a history of getting 10-20 goals a year and can play up top!!! and nothing is saying we cant go back for mourts in Jan!! Levi has done well

==============Lloris==============
Walker=====Verts======Kaboul/Gallas===BAE
============Parker/Sandro===========
=================Dembele=========
===========Sig/Dempsey============
Lennon========================Bale
============Adebayor=============

Its a good team and we forget that Ade is a perm transfer!!! Damiao and Mourts in Jan and we sorted.

We are not in the Champions League but have still done sooo well in this window!!

I think people need to lay off the ITK's. They pass info in in good faith and yes sometimes the "nearly done" type comments build up our hopes, but maybe when they make these comments it is "nearly done"

I personally thank the ITK's for making this window interesting for us to follow.

Also, Levy has done a good job. As some have said, we don't have a massive stadium like others (yet), and cant afford to throw the extra few million or pay excess in wages. We have to work within our means. Yes we don't want him to leave it to the last minute but he is trying to do whats best for the club I think. However we will never know what is the real story behind closed doors. All we can do is fully support who we have playing for our amazing and illustrious club. We still have an great squad and I'm looking forward to the rest of the season, starting with a good response against Norwich

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

I dont anyone can say Levy has failed untill we know the detail, i think the window overall has been good, although creativly we seem a bit light.

We spent 56 million this window!
