From the outside looking in football fans probably rate Defoe but when you watch every game like we do it can be seen that if only we could afford a Suarez or Aguero we would be in serious business !

I think that when playing against teams that park the bus shooting from long range is a good thing. Aside from the obvious of scoring from range, deflected or direct, it also makes defenders come out the area a bit more to close down these shots. I'm sure that must be an AVB tactic as so many players seem to be having a go and if they do so when there is no better option then it works in our favour.

I only got round to watching the game on MOTD last night but it confirmed what i saw in the ground- there was no foul on a Reading player for the free kick which led to their goal. In fact it was even clearer than i thought- Naughton got the ball cleanly.

Did anyone else find it irritating that the commentator- John Motson- whimped out of even mentioning that. He said something like there were a couple of players coming in at him or something, rather than saying what he could see with his own eyes- that it was a clean tackle?

Ok it didn't matter in the end but it was still annoying.

Yes, I noticed that too.. nothing can be said to bring that wanker Webb into disrepute.

I've always hated MOTD commentary.. it's so cringe and forced and the commentators have to pretend they are watching the match for the first time and act surprised when something happens.

I'm sure that the BBC commentary is recorded in real time, as the match develops, and is edited, along with the visuals, for later transmission. They wouldn't have time to dub a commentary down afterwards on the edited footage and there's no reason why they would do that. There's a BBC live commentator at each stadium, in the press box, chattering away as the match takes place, and then it's edited later.

Not sure if you were joking...? Or did you mean the analysts in the studio?
