Wilfried Bony scored his 30th goal of the season yesterday. He should seriously be on our shortlist. Even if he's never as good as he is at Vitesse, he'd still be a great option to have on our bench. He's only 24, has to be on peanuts at Vitesse, and he's built like a tank.

I could see him costing around €12-14m in the end. Vitesse would have a hard time passing that up given the size of the club. With Defoe and Adebayor hopefully replaced, Bony would be a great start. A guy who is completely capable of being the physical presence as the lone striker up top.
He runs a little strange, but the guy looks very composed infront of goal. for some reason tho i feel he wouldnt be the kind of guy to run all game long and pressure the defence into mistakes.

I decided to take a look at Bony's goal scoring by the minutes they occurred. I broke them down into three sections (Minutes 1 to 45, Minutes 45-70 and then minutes 70-End of match). I chose the 70' mark as that is AVB's preferred time to make tactical substitutions.

Wilfried Bony's goal breakdown by minutes:

Minute 70-End of match: 10 goals - 90', 90', 79', 80', 76', 80', 90', 73', 70', 74'

Minutes 45-75: 12 goals - 53', 60', 53', 55', 68', 63', 53', 56', 63', 59', 56', 46'

Minutes 1-45: 8 goals - 11', 8', 19', 8', 39', 9', 28', 38'

I don't know anything about his Snarf I'll concede but I have seen his name touted around and 30 goals is nothing to sniff at even in an inferior league. Who could you compare him to which will give me more of an insight?

Ah, comparisons are always so tough.

He reminds me a lot of another player I like a lot in Emmanuel Emenike.

The way in which Bony attacks the ball, uses his strength to victimize defenders, is incredibly direct in his attack, good control of the ball at his feet, is good in the air despite being an average 6'0 (Emenike is 5'11"), and his finishing ability being top notch, the comparisons are somewhat there.

The difference being that Emenike has more pace at his disposal and is probably a more savvy dribbler of the ball. Emenike has also played more out wide in his career although he does play as a striker.

*Pretends to know who Emenike is*

From that report sounds very promising and stats show he knows where the goal is. Question is how would he cope against some of the best defenders in the world; there is no disguising that Dutch league has it's fair share of very poor teams.

A bit of digging I did though did show he can do it against the best teams in the Eredivisie (scored 2 in a 2-0 away win at Ajax last year)

I don't know Vitesse's financial situation but they only paid
4M for him. Can't see much more north of
12-15M. Worth the risk!

It is worth noting the Chelsea want to sign Bony and I expect them to make a move for him and Schurrle

With Torres, Lukaku, Ba on their books as well as a very promising Piazon... AND the expected arrival of a stellar forward... Surely they won't?

I think the Bony links were before they added Ba. Everyone knows they are going to sign a big-name striker this summer, and there will be no place for Bony when they do.

Lloris
Walker Dawson Jan BAE
Cabaye*
Sandro Dembele
Lennon Bale
Remy

Bench. Brad, Kaboul, Holtby, Siggy, Ade, Parker, Carrol, kyle.N
Wilfried Bony

Wilfried Bony

Our most vital signing is a player like Cabaye that can controll the tempo and the pace on the game. without Luka and non of the others able to take that role would it be a massive signing. If we are able to reach CL i think Yohan would be our main target.

Remy have shown that he is a great striker, with Shitty players around him. what can he do with players like Gareth and Lennon around him :) COYS !!! cant wait

The links have been there before Ba and still been there after Ba, they wont get that big name striker (Falcao imo) but they will get Schurrle

Piazon is a AM but Torres and Ba are likely to be there next season as for Lukaku, he will go out on loan. He had a nightmare there last season, Im not talking about in just the first team. I saw him play for the reserves and his performances were shocking, he was lucky to get loan based on the performance I saw. He was also rumoured to be laughed at for being so poor during training, which makes his rise the such a shock tbh.

As for that Steller forward, I expect Schurrle and cant see them getting anyone massive

You're right. A quick Google search has revealed links as recent as late March.

Apparently West Ham are looking to add him for what is believed to be 12m and Chelsea want to hijack the deal.

I felt bad leaving Dawson out of the starting 11, and BAE, as much as I love the guy I have a feeling he wont be here next season.

and with a bench/regular rotation of: Defoe, Townsend, Gylfi, Dawson, Shaw, Parker, GK? (will Friedel be playing next season?)

I dont think it will be that but I dont understand it myself as this season other than Mata, the one that has had the biggest effect on the team is Moses. When he is in the team, the team performance is better, this makes the schurrle move seem strange tbh. Thats also how I see them lining up next season. which is Scary but the schurrle signing may be dependant on CL

Next season we need to make a statement of intent and make some big money signings to make the current players and more importantly the rest of the league to see we mean business.

-----------------------------Higauin-----------------------------
--------------1 of Honda/Leandro/Benteke---------------

Schurrle----------------------------------------------------Bale
Townsend------------------------------------------------Lennon

-------------------------------Sigurdsson-------------------------
---------------------------------Falque---------------------------
-----------------Dembele-------------Sandro-------------------
------------------Carroll-------------Luongo/Holtby------------

Rose----------Vertonghen----------Kaboul-------------Walker
Verts------------Dawson------------Caulker----------Naughton

-------------------------------Lloris-------------------------------
------------------------------Friedel------------------------------
Possible youngsters to watch:Bentaleb, Pritchard and Shaq

The front 3 has to be constantly changing position and all 3 of these players have shown that they can do this as they have done well there. People also might be shocked that I have put some first team players in the second 11 position, thats not the point imo, the idea is to have a second 11 as good as the 1st but that offer something different imo. Also in that CM I would say that the best 3 may not be the ones listed, it would depend on the opposition with it currently being close between for 2 of Dembele/Sig/Holtby.

Dependant on CL signings
Higauin £10-£20mill (Non CL equivalent Leandro or Benteke)
Schurrle £15-£20mill (PEA or Son or Yarmelenko(free))(wide man that can play up front)

Second Striker
Honda - I would only sign him if AVB was going to play him in the false 9 position otherwise buy one of the non CL equivalent strikers listed, though I would go for Benteke or Leandro personally
Benteke - I dont really need to say, do I?
Leandro - £12million is the most I would pay with possible add ons(though if it did include add ons than it would be £10million max)

Outgoings
Dempsey
Huddlestone - has the potential to be very good for us against teams that sit deep when we play 433
Gomes - Done well considering he hadn't played for a while
Bentley - Free
Gallas - Free
Parker - I think West Ham would take him back as well as many some
BAE - Monaco
Dawkins - MLS
Khumalo - Anywhere
Ade - Those who could afford him, if not dont get a second striker
Defoe - Lower half, or Stoke if they stay up
Naughton - depending on how far Smith has progressed, if he needs another year, we should keep him

Loans
Smith - Prem loan
Livermore Prem Loan unless AVB plays him
Falque - If we cant play him send him to a top 10 la liga team as they will have him, I was surprised to hear him being called as the best player in second division, as Barca expect the next messi to make a impact in their first team next season, I would keep him personally
Cebellos - La Liga/Championship and the same for McEvoy, Shaq, Bentaleb and Pritchard

Other consideration
If Dawson goes get Toby Alderweireld in. Then that leaves us with two naturally right sided CB's and 2 Left sided CB's, Cost would be around the same possibly

Total Spend: £40million-55million
Total Sales: £27.5million-40million
Likely Net Spend: £27.5million-£12.5million

Alvaro Perriera seems to be a AVB target but he has been terrible at Inter, that a fit Rose would be better defensively imo, likely net spend after this: £32.5milion-£17.5million

Final Note: I have listed alot of youth players in this list a couple of which have just finished playing championship/league 1 footy and while this may be a big step for certain positions you can get away with it and the step up if talented can be a distant memory. This week we saw a 20 year old playing Serie B footy last season be one of PSG's best players in a Champions League Quarter Final against arguably the best club side in the last 6 years. Im not saying that this is going to happen with one of our players but they should good enough to be 5/6 choice tbh and someone like Falque should be good enough considering he is held as one of the best(if not the best) players in segunda.
(sorry for the insanely long post)

After his performance at Basel, I can see Carroll slotting in as a cm, and Parker being shipped off. He can do everything Parker does, but better, even pirouettes :D

I think Carroll is a valuable squad member to have, and I fully expect him to be a regular off the bench next season. The lad needs to have a strength coach over the summer, though.

I dont know if im over hyping this but to see our two young cm mids looking so at ease and seeming to click against CL opposition, has got me very excited for our future. I dont think we need a new cm, unless its a world class midfielder like Moutinho that can slot in straight away and they can learn off. We've got more pressing issues like getting a striker/ winger. I reckon we need:

Lloris (Friedel/Archer or loan out to Championship)

BAE (have Rose as backup;Sell BAE, Buy another Lb,Shaw? and Rose compete; Sell Rose buy new Lb)
Vertonghen (Caulker)
Kaboul (Dawson)
Walker (either keep Naughton, loan Smith to Pl, or keep Smith sell Naughton)

Sandro (Sell Parker, Livermore backup; keep Parker, loan Livermore, Sell Hudd; Luongo game time, impressed at all loans )
Dembele (Holtby, Carroll, Mouthinho, if we have extra funds, not priority)
Bale(Sigg, we will have plenty to play in rotation for back up there, Mason game time? doesn't look too promising though,

Winger/Striker hybrid, Son/PAE/Remy/seen some mention Schurrle (Townsend, Sell Dempsey a lot of rotation can be done here as well)
(New Striker , Higuain/Damiao  ANYONE! ;Ade hopefully, higher ceiling than Defoe and will be harder to shift/ Coulthirst/Kane keep/loan one or the other)
Lennon (Townsend LW as well, try and give Ceballo game time, Loan or try give game to Pritchard as well)

So ye. Basically buy a striker, winger/striker. If AVB really doesnt see eye to eye with Benny then sell while we can get the money, and spend elsewhere. Only need to get a CM if it is someone at their peak that the younger ones can learn off, and he will contribute straight away. There's not point buying an Eriksen or Claise as they will just block the progress of our players, while they are learning themselves. The outlay for them isnt worth it when Carroll and Holtby could be potentially as good or better. Oh and Siggurdson has really impressed me these last few months come on leaps and bounds.

From sales we could make 20mil maybe. New striker might cost 20mil max for me and he better be worth it like Benzema or Higuian otherwise 15mil and all the wingers for one reason or another, unsure about Schurrle though, should cost around 10 mil.
Buy a new LB 10 mil so really online an outlay of 20 mil in the end, I think thats quite realistic

Maybe I will get shot down for this.... But how many have seen Hguain play regularly? My flatmate is spanish and he told mme that Higuain has a reputation in Spain for missing alot of chances.

I see alot more of la liga on TV now than I used to, and he does seem a little wasteful. He obviously isnt a bad player but Im not sure he is the uber striker/solution to our problems that some people see him as.

I must admit though after watching him in the world cup in 2010, I thought he was one of the best players in the world.
