Really?? If I had a chance to work somewhere where I didn't have to pay tax, I would be off in a shot!
Footballers can sometimes have a very short career (Fabrice Muamba springs to mind) so if a club is willing to pay crazy money for them to play there, I don't blame them.
Now if you want to talk about these idiots who brought in FFP thinking that it would not need monitoring......................

They are as much to blame as any other party. It is not like Falcao wouldn't have earned more than he needs for the rest of his life at another club, yet he has chosen to join Monaco for the extra money. When you are earning over 20000 a week, the argument that you only have a short career kind of goes out the window.

As a fellow Dane, I really don't think Cornelius is what we need right now. Not at all ready for the PL, even though he does have talent. The danish league is comparabale to the Scottish PL approximately.

If we bought him, it surely wouldn't be as starter, and he needs gametime more than anything else, to continue his development. He seems a levelheaded guy too, and not one to move just for the money, he'll rather stay at FCK, get game time and further his development IMO.

If we could bring Cornelius in, logic states that he would immediately get loaned out to get some more experience under his belt.

44p per second apparently.
Tax free.

But, think about the star names who went to Russia - how long will it take for the novelty to wear off and them to want to play for real fans?

I have absolutely no sympathy for players like Willian, Hulk and Samba who complain that their oligarch run clubs won't allow them to leave to further their careers as they made a rod for their own back. Unfortunately until FIFA really clamp down on these clubs we will always be left playing on an uneven field. That is what makes discovering talent early so important and makes rebrab's ITK that our scouts are hard at work very pleasing.

a) Monaco had fans when they made the champions league final against Porto.

b) Think about it, would you rather live in Monaco or Russia? Or for that matter Monaco or anywhere else on the continent?

I think they're called 'glory hunters' or 'plastics'. Similar to fans but not really the same thing.

When you earn over £20,000 a week you spend over £10,000 grand a week like we would spend £100 a week based on earning £400 week

That was a whole lot of numbers and weeks in the post

He didn't, in fact he had no choice. That is the beauty of third party investment. :)

38k a day as a footballer shows you how much has gone wrong with society, so sad.

yes but when you are 87 minutes into a match does it really matter if the fans screaming your name are plastics or not. I mean don't get me wrong, I have supported Spurs since 1996, when I was 6, and we were rubbish back then - so I hate plastic fans - but that doesn't mean that players have the same differentiation.

But I really meant to emphasis point b in that post, if you were offered a high paying job in Monaco of all places, why wouldn't you be interested.

They are just jumping on the same bandwagon that Chelsea, City, Malaga and PSG have taken though.

And on the 8th day God envisioned Tottenham Hotspur, Borrusia Dortmund, Everton FC and Real Sociedad to show the world, that on their day, budget teams can smash the shit out of oil-monger backed billionaire boys clubs :giggle:

Watch Atletico go all out for Leandro now, just as we're seemingly on the verge of signing him (again). :(

Just because they sold Falcao doesn't mean they will actually see the money from the sale. He did have third party investors who would of got a much bigger slice of the pie. :)
