I was thinking about how Sol was being used to promote their friendly with AC and believe their chairman will want to conclude the deal before Sunday so that there's not constant questioning of why he is or isn't involved if he's still at the club. And the posters thing kind of confirms this for me

I agree. Please stop calling him Sol though.

Yep it looks like the plan is to control the midfield and use attacking full backs to get into the attack with the front three. Sounds good to me.

All relies on actually getting a striker though. Please god, buddha, flying spaghetti monster can we get Soldado sorted today!

I thought we agreed that you would keep my identity hidden.....

So it looks like Soldado may be happening. If so I think the whole Benteke debacle was a load of bollox. They aren't even close in terms of quality.

There is no way we would of been in for Benteke instead of Soldado.

I'm curious to know if bentek and chadli share the same agent... If it is the case I think we have helped benteke to have a better deal and then signed chadli easily

We cant sell BAE..We need to keep him just because of his tweets and pictures.

Also he's keeping the only hairdressers in tottenham in business.

Like him as a person and can be a good player, but is also frustrating. Can we afford frustrating players if we want to challenge for trophies?

I don't think I've ever been so emotionally invested in a potential signing. Every bit of news, every morsel of dodgy gossip - good or bad - is ingested whole. If this transfer falls apart I too will fall apart :D

I think your feeling the effects of praying to sign a striker! Every window since selling Berbatov (2008!) we've been waiting for the mercurial striker that would plunder the goals that would see us into the champions league (I don't count Keane, Defoe or Crouch as signings just retunings).

Every window we've rejoiced in the news that its "DONE" only for some halfwit negotiator to think they could get "a better deal" ultimately helping the club in the long run so to speak.

I wonder if I can take much more, but my love for spurs keeps bringing me back. I pray this year is the year!

Well at least we've signed two players so we've strengthened the squad for the new season which means this window hasn't been a complete failure.

Oh ffs.

The word of the day is suited to A&C's mood.

Hoping for updates from some of the big hitters this morning/lunchtime.

All gone a bit quiet.

Still 20 odd days till the start of the season. Plenty of time to fuck it up yet lol.

All this nervy talk about dealing with Madrid is superstitious rubbish. If they have a player we want, we deal with them. It's got fuck all to do with Bale, who if he wants to, will probably end up there anyway in the long run.
The fact that Madrid know Levy and still want to deal with us is a both positive and a miracle. Let us rejoice.

Who cares, I would rather Bale be at Madrid next summer than United this one, or even next one.

Ha, i'd rather he was at Spurs... I don't think Man Utd have that kinda money for one player. Moyes doesn't have that kind of pull and is used to working within a tighter budget.

As for this 'special relationship', Real Madrid can foxtrot oscar.

I suspect that, if anything, a possible Coentrao deal is the equivalent of Madrid turning up with an apologetic bunch of flowers from a petrol station and a sheepish expression. I have no doubt that we are pissed off at the tapping up and Grey Fox even said we were considering a formal complaint - maybe they're trying to smooth things over?

Re: Coentrao. We shouldn't do any business with RM. Any conversation is likely to get round to Bale and I'd suggest that a favourable deal for any of their players would imply that RM are entitled Bale at a discount. At least, Perez and the others would want it seen this way.

If I was running the show, anytime bale was mentioned I'd leave the room. They need to ante up on modric fees first and show some respect. They need to cough up to earn the right to even mention bale, let alone negotiate.

...... that's what I'm telling myself anyway.

Relax the deals still on for soldado. I would expect an announcement today (gut feeling). Very humorous that they will sign postiga.

I have not seen the itk on coentrao but I will back it up. We havd a choice of players from real madrid. Coentrao, higuain, morata (as a loan)

The deal.is to offset the modric money nothing to do with bale. I have been banging on about this since last year. We sold modders on a ridiculously cheap deal stupidly cheap. Real will give us a player on the cheap to offset the money.

the special relationship is to do with bale also but it just gives them first option if we choose to sell.
