BAE being 'sort of' injured is the worst scenario for us. Obviously we don't feel he can play, but likewise he can't be sold if he isn't likely to pass a medical.

Transfer purgatory.

I still believe definitely one, potentially both, of Ade and Defoe will go. One goes, we'll bring a young CF happy to play third choice. If both go, I do think Leandro Damaio will resurface as a target alongside a youngster, to be Soldado's understudy, but still likely to see plenty of gametime, and would settle quicker playing with Sandro and Paulinho.
There was ITK sometime back, that he was no longer first choice, but that wouldn't rule us out of going back in for him later in the window.

Megabucks Napoli couldn't get the deal done, it's time to leave him in the past. If he gets no game time in the world cup or has a bad world cup his value will drop even further. Now we have Baldini, we can look for new talent.

Unless we're selling either Defoe or Ade then we're fine for strikers.

The problems appear to be that Siggy is no VdV and we have no player able to operate in an advanced middle position able to find pockets of space and play others in. This is why Willian and possibly Eriksen make sense. They are both also capable of playing in other positions as we switch between 433 and 4231.

Defending is an obvious issue so I'm really hoping that gets sorted out ASAP. With a solid defence we can work on the attack from where we are. But with gaps at the front and back, we'll end up drawing/losing more than we should.

How so?

Defoe was bloody absent yesterday and as been since Boxing Day 2012. Ade blows hot and cold and cannot be relied on for the TEAM. We need another striker willing and able to put in a shift, play in AVB's system and not fucking bleat when on the bench.

i know 442 isn't fashionable but i could see ade and soldado working as a pair.
I agree I think we'd score more and be more solid in defence as everyone knows the system. This zonal marking just doesn't seem to work in practice for opposition attackers arriving late in the box.

And Monaco will more than likely offer high wages and Benny has always said he's in it for the money.

That's absurd money. Unless, similar to that Coentrao rumor, it includes his wages.
I mentioned earlier that he would be the one we would get good money for and that his stock is very highly regarded in France.

I lived over there for a few months last year with a couple of Monaco fans and they banged on about how they thought he would end up there or at PSG

If accurate it will definitely be Monaco.

I for one will be sad to see Benny go.....but 12 million is outrageous, particularly when you consider his age.

26 million for Benny, Caulker and Dempsey?

Levy take a bow lol

There's your Soldado money recouped already!
