With the defence picking itself from anyone turning up to WHL with a pair of boots, it looks a team that is bias towards attack and susceptable to the counter attack. But good on him for at least going for it.

So if we create loads and score more than 2 tonight is it a case of:
A. Sherwood the tatical genius?
B. Christ, we're lucky WH are that bad!
C. What the **** have you bunch of ***** been doing all season when you can play like that?

As always the jury is out...

definitely glad to see him trying something new, and giving adebayor a chance.

rather have holtby in that CM slot over siggy tho, he has much better pace..and seems to tackle more effectively too.

Agreed, but we'll need Holtby fresh on Sunday. I'm looking forward to seeing what Gylfi can do in this role, too. I feel like he's our most underutilized player (aside from Lamela).

Exactly, it's a 4-4-2 only in name, but the midfield is so fluid due to intelligent players like Nasri and Silva knowing how to link play and find space.

Not just leg it full speed down the line and launch the ball into the area to no one in particular.

oh and CM 2 for Dembele and Siggy read Yaya Toure and Fernandinho...

As others have said, Atletic play 4-4-2 and they're currently one of the best teams in Europe.

The trick is to play aggressive and take the game to the opposition, we don't need to control possession against West Ham

4-4-2 with a big man little man combo up front.

I'm really delighted Tim Sherwood is the technical mastermind managing our academy students.

What's wrong with it against trash at home, one thing I never understood with AVb was the same old system whether it was bottom of the table at home or top of the table away.

He had chances to show his ability in a handfull of games. The only game where he was above average was against Sheriff in the Europa League. He will get his chances though. People are acting like he deserves to be a starter because he was expensive.

He does deserve to be a starter because he was expensive, we can't afford to have a £30m player stagnate, especially not when he's better than everyone in his position here. It's not like Aaron sodding Lennon is undroppable.

He's had European games every few weeks wherein his position has been seemingly picked at random due to tactics or tictacs or the fucking position of the moon or whatever AVB felt like doing that week, he's had two Premier League starts & in the best game he played for us he was instantly dropped. He needs to start playing.

Very exciting lineup in my opinion! I've wanted to see something like this since the season began so hopefully it works. Good luck Sherwood & welcome back Adebayor :)

It's up to the players tonight to show fire, enthusiasm and pace. Tim can only pick the side and give encouragement for this game, he can't repair the damage already done as quickly.

Get behind him those of you at the game, make plenty of positive noise!

Disgusting now you've put it like that.

Probably our best chance at silverware this season and we've got a bloke at the helm who has decided to play a striker with no match fitness. A slow, physically weak guy in a midfield two. Oh and Jermain Defoe. This isn't the time for experimental or risky selections.

Pretty livid, this will be Sherwood's first impression on most fans today as a manager and this is his answer?

Doesn't exactly feel you with confidence if he is going to be here for any longer than this week.

No Soldado, Holtby, Eriksen, Lamela?

I have a feeling it will be a similar set up at the weekend. Feared this badly, might work ok in the short term against shit teams is the only consolation for me

It's so backward.

He is literally just trying to reproduce redknapps early 2010 team.

Ade and Defoe up top

Lennon

Townsend = bale.....lol

Siggursdon = Modric I guess :s

Dembele does do a good Scott parker impression, the shit season 2 scott Parker

Probably be too much for west ham regardless, I just hope this is a one off.

This thread proves conclusively that us Spurs fans are very well balanced people, completely unfair if we didn't slate Sherwoods teamsheet after all the AVB pre-match carnage. Redknapp never got any pre-match stick because no one could read his teamsheet

I'm delighted kyle walker is captain, he did'nt give up like the rest of them Sunday.. he kept going & showed commitment & glad he gets his reward.
As for starting team the only thing I'd of changed is fryers cb with chicheres & Capoue in midfield with either Dembele or Holtby

Agree with the bit about Walker.

Do you mean our very successful academy that doesn't play 4-4-2 at any age group.

hope proving everybody/especially AVB wrong is enough motivation for Ade to put on a show

You have all realised, that Capoue is CB again, and after the weekend, that worries me greatly.

Oh, and I reckon Kaboul is finished. Just an opinion mind.
