Well this has to be the most boring TW I can remember since they introduced the summer/winter windows. We've clearly got too many players to keep them all happy, so outgoings seem the most likely. Great plan to sell Defoe (/sarcasm) as that leaves us with two strikers, with one unable to score. As for Berbatov coming back six years later, no thanks. Adebayor is faster, works harder, and has shown he'll score given game time.

On a separate subject, it's 8 years since some SC-ers went down to the training ground to give Martin Jol a 50th birthday cake. And information gleaned that day resulted in the birth of the best transfer rumour/ITK forum for any sport in the entire world. Congrats to those who've kept it going!

Good to see you dropping in, BOF. You should do it more often. I was only extolling your catalogue of linked players the other day.

Capoue- ''It's hard. I’ve gone from a definite starter to someone who thinks about playing. It's the first time this has happened to me''.

On Tim wanting to use him as a defensive option like Avb did- “I am not surprised. It is the English way. They don't know much about foreign players.”

“If I don't play, it will be difficult [to go],” he said. “If something [a move] presents itself, we'll talk.”

Does he think AVB's English?

It's quite funny, really, since 99% of SC members seem to think he's purely a defensive player as well.

No we don't, he's the probably the most defensive specialist we have, but in his locker he has the ability to drive forward with the ball and has a good range of passing and pops up for the odd goal by arriving lately (evidenced in France). This is what is so strange, as apparently this is exactly what Les and Tim want in their central midfield. It really does point to them not knowing anything about the player.

Edit: Unless I am the 1% of SCers that contradict your statement in which case, your post is true....

I'm not expecting much today - may-be Berbatov to return - but I wonder if there might be a late surprise. May-be a player that needs a bit more game time for before the world cup? Someone like Lescott or Milner may-be?

SC DONATION BREAK.

From time to time, i'll be posting a plea for donations.

Imagine this……..

Rob decides he can no longer be arsed/cannot afford to keep SC's current servers going out of his own pocket. We have to downgrade. We'd have pretty much no choice but to make the ITK Forums subscription only, or once we arrive at a figure the servers are comfortable with, limit numbers accessing ITK to that figure.

Would you want us to go down that route? We don't. So if you're in here enjoying our coverage, please sling a few quid in the pot.

Thank you.

Thread re-opened in 5 minutes.

Doughnutted.
Thanks!

Come on guys, we NEED your doughnuts. Have a couple of pints less over the weekend, or make your bird pay half or sell a kidney. Don't squander your money on food and rent! SC is in need!

I think a lot of people do, not least because of the belief that he can fill in at CB (which, admittedly, he can, but it's strictly emergency). Sherwood's admitted he's only just getting to know him, which is honest and fair enough. I doubt he saw much of him at Toulouse, and Villas-Boas played him as a DM and CB. But what's this Sherwood 'rant'?
