Ki, Johnson and borini are all decent and can be a threat. I'm sure they are quaking in their boots about KaneSunderland: Mannone, Bardsley, Alonso, Brown (c), Cuellar, Vergini, Ki, Bridcutt, Cattermole, Johnson, Borini.

The cm is ridiculously light again, neither paulhino or eriksen are gonna help defence much. Its very naive to assume Sunderland will just lie back and let us rape them without resistance because they are bottom of the league.
and Aaron Lennon inclusion is a joke once more
We should win regardless of the selection if the players at least fancy putting in a shift tonight and press for the ball. Becsuse we simply hsve much stronger players, but it could quite easily be a very stinging defeat with this set up

Anyone else think the obviously right decision to remove Lennon from the XI and put in Sandro would have actually made this line-up quite well balanced and exciting?

Like the trailblazers they are, Tim and Les are going to stick with the 'holding midfielders are for girls' philosophy to the end. In years to come young managers and students of the game will credit their revolutionary insight. Probably.

This so called championship level squad put up a much better fight at Anfield than we did. They might not have a team oozing quality, but they do have a determination and togetherness that's been so glaringly lacking with us all too often this season. We might well beat them but don't be surprised if they make it very very difficult to do so.

No DMC may still work against Sunderland but then it must be Paulinho and Eriksen in the middle and Chadli on the left. It would be understandable if Dembele is injured. But if it doesn't work Sandro must replace Kane. However, Chadli in the middle and Eriksen on the left would be a double waste of tactics/players.
