I doubt Townsend would accept another loan move. Him and Rose had previously stated it's either Spurs or somewhere else on a permanent deal at this point.

I read some people saying they hope Poch will coach Townsend to do this and that but you can't coach intelligence. Chadli, Eriksen and Lamela are intelligent, flowing, intricate players who CAN do a variety of things. Townsend does offer something different off the bench but he's never going to be anything special. It's clearly Levy's decision to keep him and sacrifice Morgan and I think this is a big risk

That's a bit of an unfair assumption. How do you know that it's Levy.

Tbf I shouldn't have said "clearly his decision" when I'm just speculating. I presumed it wouldn't be Poch as it's his man so automatically went Levy. However it could just as easily be there end, especially the way they've been this window. Very unsettled

Levy is like the parent of a teenager (the teenager being us). Every decision he makes is met with critisism, but as time passes, we tend to see that he's not that stupid after all.

Not a knee jerk to his awful touch that killed any chance we had to get back into this game but SELL HIM!

Never mind what he has done today he is a one trick pony and he is not good enough to play at the top in the premier league.

Please get rid of this over hyped player he adds nothing to are team.

Yes, let us vent all of our frustrations on Townsend for this game despite him coming on with the side being 2-0 down.

The common theme from this game, and our other matches against top sides in this league over the past year, is a central midfield with absolutely zero bite that exerts zero control over a match. You have to actively ponder if they contributed anything to the match after these end.

He's clearly not got any confidence back since his injury. You could see how frustrated he was when he was subbed a few times after he'd come back. He was playing his best footy before and in a flow state of mind feeling invincible. He thought he was the new Gareth Bale and even though he kept saying he needed to keep his feet on the ground and just play his football, I think the hype got to him and he had an inflated opinion of himself. Now he's coming crashing back down to reality and he's desperate and not at ease with himself at all.

He was shit before the injury too. Cant score. Cant assist. All he does is run forward then shoot into row z from outside the box. He's just not a good footballer by any stretch of the imagination.

I'm sure you did, but I think we all knew well n good the second he popped off his warm-up that he was going to catch flak for the result despite coming on late in a side that had already conceded two.

Our attacking players are not entirely ideal, no. But nor is our central midfield, and they should ideally have much more influence over a match.

Least amount of through-balls in the league. Very few counterattacks undertaken, and even less efficiently so. Shockingly poor counts of forward passes. Shockingly high numbers of sideways passes and attempted crosses into already stacked boxes. There is a common theme here, and I'm delighted to see Poch addressing it after haven taken care of the defense.

That's a little harsh on the chap. Hindsight is fine and i'm well aware of his assist stats etc, but when he was at QPR he looked on fire and full of promise. He believed in himself and now he doesn't. Blame the hype of the England goal he scored if anything. I mean the amount of non Tottenham fans that were asking me around that time about him and saying how good he was at the time was totally OTT and annoying, but is that really his fault?

It's the media and mindset in this country, especially fickle footy fans. It's embarrassing. We hype stuff up so much and then destroy it as soon as it doesn't live up to expectations. The herd all jump on board every time without fail.
