Being the positive person I am, I can actually see a few chinks of light after todays shambles. Surely fans cant keep blaming the manager. Likewise the team on the pitch. As an earlier poster commented, you get what you pay for. That only leaves the owners and the board for supporters to aim their anger at. I couldnt make todays game, but hopefully recent the rumblings against ENIC i`ve been detecting recently have taken a massive boost forward today. For those who still insist we`re making progress with Lewis and Levy, hopefully this is the wake up call you all need. Clouds and silver linings like.

Sunday ruined thanks lads.
Don't let it get you down. When deciding to support Spurs it should come like a packet of fags, with a health warning attached.

Following Spurs can ruin your weekends.

After that you have to take some responsibility for it yourself :D

Manager reaction
Tottenham 0-1 West Brom

Posted at15:43

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino:

"I'm disappointed and angry. I think we had a very bad day.

"We played very, very slow. We need to be more alive and play quick. We didn't create too much. We made a big mistake on the set-piece."

I wonder whether MP is getting his actual team ready in the Europa League. The players will have a different crowd at home to the ones that attend EPL home games, who can shatter a team's/player's confidence. Many of the home fans are of an age when they have prostate problems, don't sleep well as a result, and as a consequence tend to be very grumpy; having erectile dysfunction doesn't help either, with any lack of potency on the pitch not being well-received.

I am confident Poch will make things better once the team adapts to his style

The problems will still exist though - we still won't have any leaders, we still won't have enough pace or power going forward

We may improve things like our movement, defending, pressing and understanding player to player and hopefully that will see the end to such inept performances but we will still never compete or even be back to where we were a few seasons ago until we have a CM player of MS quality as well as a clinical striker to replace Ade and Soldado and until we have at least one player with pace like Lennon that is also able to score or create goals for others

Without these players we will never be able to dominate the midfield against competitive teams and we will never be able to create and score lots of goals unless teams lie down and die against us like Rangers

I haven't defended that performance at all, totally unacceptable.

I absolutely disagree that we are in the track we were in last year.

If people want to come at me and say "see, look, poch is just as bad", take it somewhere else. Not interested.

I'd like to reiterate that I am in no way suggesting that Poch is a bad manager and that I would have high hopes for him if he were by some miracle backed by the board. But there is no way he can achieve anything with this team.

Do you think Adebayor is a negative influence on the team at all?
Would he be made vice captain if he as poor in the dressing room?

Looks to me like he was told to stay high. He aint at type of player. We ain't that type of team.

Here's Dembele's passing from the WBA game and shows exactly why I don't want him in the team.

View attachment 15498

That said Capoue's wasn't much more forward thinking.

View attachment 15499

These two are meant to be the players that quickly transition defense into attack and they just can't seem to do it. (At least they couldn't do it today.)

Not just today, but everyday.

Capoue is supposed to win the ball back and move it quickly to one of the more creative players...

Dembele... well... your post says it all.

I fear you are correct. I'm beginng to worry that nobody short of Sir Alex could do the business with this lot. I hope I'm wrong.

And I'm not oblivious to that fact. But if anyone has heard of a man called Andre Villas Boas before, then they should probably be familiar with Pre-Christmas sackings. Don't think Levy won't do it, he might.
I agree that its always a possibility - but I do think expectations for Poch are lower than they were for AVB due to the lack of investment and support given to him this summer compared to AVB and by the fact that AVB and Sherwood between them took us away from challenging from the top four and we can no longer automatically expect that to be our target as we'd become accustom in the least half decade

I'm not knocking your concern, it's valid - but I think its misplaced here as I don't think Poch is in any danger of a sacking this season unless things go seriously wrong and we end up mid table or lower by xmas

I have seen little in the 4-2-3-1 that holds any credibility to be successful. We simply do not have the players for this system.
What I've been saying for fucking 12 months for fudge sake. Everybody fucking were like "Poch's 4-shit-crap is different! He'll sort them out".
Fudge and fuck.

I wasn't expecting too much from us this season, which is always a shame to be honest. So I'm not overly surprised by such results as this.

I don't think we have much real quality throughout the squad. Soldado is probably our most talented player, but he seems broken. Eriksen has lot about him but he has a long way to go. Hugo is fantastic but other than that its full of a lot of 'football manager greats' who in reality, always fail to deliver.

Its crazy to think that not too long ago we were one or two players away from a genuine title challenge. We are a million miles off such a level now. Lack of investment is understandable if we have millions of high quality superstar youngsters coming through the ranks who will replace the Crown Jewels that we sold off, but that obviously isn't the case. I just can't understand the lack of investment in the squad, unless of course Levy lied about us not having to adjust our transfer budgets etc to get the stadium done?

We could have Ferguson as manager, Bill Nick on the coaching staff, it wouldn't matter. these players just aren't up to it. To a man.

Kaboul. Thought he needed a run of games. He's had them....he's gone at the game.

Chiriches. The more he is told by the crowd not to fuck about, the more dangerous he becomes.

Dembele, first time last week I've ever seen him play quick football. Thought it might be poch. How wrong I was. Looked like a glorified, pirouetting Scott Parker today.

Lamela. Is he aware qe play in white?

Eriksen. The new Andy Sinton. Set piece specialist that can't take a corner. I know 20 pub players that take better corners.

Adebayor. Said it many times. If he won't play, neither do Spurs. Whether he has been n told not to come deep, or was disinterested, the results are the same. We look unthreatening because out midfield is blunt.

Avb did a good, but Boring job.

Sherwood did a good on field job.

If Poch gets us to 5th it will be a miracle of a job.

Got away from the ground, home already, that's the highlight of today's Spurs experience.

I guess we will get the usual nativity. Give Poch time. Let him sign some players. Wake up and see the obvious. We stink of mediocrity.
I watched shots from outside the box flying in all weekend. Dembele had great chance to hit it and ponced about.

Southampton sold all their squad almost and still look miles ahead of us. We sell one player 16 months ago and we just become even more shit. A dire club to support, a curse I won't be passing onto my children.

...I've actually told my son to tell his classmates he supports England instead.. Yes it's that bad!... Seriously Why no Vertonghen or Fazio? .. In all fairness though we didn't get Poch the key first choice players he wanted .. Daft really .. I mean Why even give him the job in the first place?. .. Our finances and expectations are better suited to a Redknapp style of older experienced players than trying to build something as we simply cannot finance it and don't have the time or patience. That said we may as well just stick with Poch now as the changes are making us a joke, so long as there's no brush with Relegation , might as well try let him try and build something over the next few years as we're not going anywhere else anytime soon. ....Nelson and Saha ...that will f**king haunt me forever.

Lots of empty seats today for a game not on TV. Do you think fans will stand for this for 5 years while we save for a ground? Not on your Nelly.
