I hope Pochettino breaks his ankle this week because it is so far up someone's arse, that it breaks pulling it out.
Lloris - 6 - Not his fault.
Dier - 5 - Sloppy. He's a good player, but not a right back. Naughton and/or Walker can't come back soon enough.
Kaboul - 5 - Defensively decent. Awful distribution of the ball.
Vertonghen - 5 - Lazy.
Rose - 4 - Had a shocker today.
Capoue - 5 - Not great.
Mason - 7 - A rarity in our team today inasmuch as he actually wanted the ball.
Eriksen - 7 - Seemed to be doing it all by himself for most of the second half.
Chadli - 5 - Decent first half, should have done much, much better with his chance just before half time. Completely anonymous second half.
Lamela - 5.5 - Tried hard but had little impact, partly because Newcastle decided that as he displayed some skill on Thursday he should be kicked whenever he had the ball.
Adebayor - 4.5 - Scored, but aside from that offered nothing and contributed nothing. Absolutely baffled how he was in the starting line up today. Needs to be sold ASAP.
Subs
Kane - 5 - Never really got into the game.
Lennon - 4 - Besides blazing a shot over the bar I don't remember him doing a single thing.
Soldado - 5 - Had pretty much no time to have any kind of impact.
Pochettino - 4 - Poor decision starting Adebayor ahead of either Kane or Soldado who both had excellent games against Asteras and Man City respectively. No idea what was said at half time to result in such a pathetic start to the second half. Substitutions were too late and had no impact.
I really really don't agree with that at all.
The Europa League screws us every season. We always look flat the next game.
Dont worry, we wont have that problem next season
The main reason I'm prepared to write off this season league-wise (in exchange for good cup runs and to see the team really start to gel properly over the course of the season) is to avoid EL next season. The Europa League screws us every season. We always look flat the next game.
We haven't had a really good transfer window since before we got into the CL and have made two poor managerial appointments previous to Pochettino. That's why we're getting worse. How on earth are we getting worse not better. I just can't get my head around it. I am also not sure why we didn't rest more players on Thursday. Dier, Lamela, Jan, Capoue and Ade all looked very much off the pace. Saying that Ade should in no way have started this match regardless of Thursday, he offers nothing game in game out at the moment. I really just don't see us getting any better any time soon unless we go shopping in Jan big time.... But we won't so I fully expect us to stay around mid table. Poch was poor today, not knife sharpening time by a long shot but if we don't win any of our next two/three/four league games questions will be asked regardless of whether or not one thinks they should be.
Probably not home yet. Shouldn't be too much longer. You know things are shit when @Bus-Conductor still hasn't even done his ratings post 8 hours after the match.
Or he is probably doing his umpteenth draft..........!Probably not home yet. Shouldn't be too much longer.
