Has he?
Yes.
Has he?
Sweet. Will keep an eye out for his left foot dribbling down the flank.Yes.
I can guarantee you if we play both lamela and eriksen against everton we're gonna get battered. I think they can only play together in a 433 as it stands and that's not gonna happen.
Eriksen is not physical and has no interest in being so and that is a problem and it will prove to be restrictive in how we play him until poch has his way with the squad and can offer proper protection around him.
Chiri is much more adventurous down the flank but - you probably noticed - he did flick the suicide switch 2/3 times today and could well have given them a penalty for his nudge on whoever that chap was trying to score in the final mins.
We're a proper fucking mess.
Agree about the fullbacks: Yedlin, walker, fredericks battling it out for RB and Arw would be nice. Even using yedlin at LB on occasion just for the speed factor down that flank until we can flog rose and bring another LB in could be a solution.
Something like...
Lloris
Walker Dier Verts Yedlin
Mason Stambo
Fredericks Lamela/Eriksen Chadli
Kane
Would give us the flank range we need and Mason would be able to join in the attacks more freely knowing his partner woldn't be in the shit as the FBs and Ar/l wingers have good recovery in them.
Refs are extremely reluctant to send 2 players off in a game. They don't want to risk it being wrong as it makes such a dent in a team.
He'll stick to 4231.I disagree. I don't enjoy Eriksen's weakness without the ball, but I believe in this side, right now he's the luxury we have to afford, not just for his productivity - he's our most productive player and was last year - but on a good day he's also heavily involved in the general play. On top of setting one up, scoring one he also made 71 passes.
We need to drop out Soldado, get Kane leading the press from the front, supported by Lamela (who will) and Chadli with Eriksen doing his best. Sooner we get Pritchard back the better IMO. He's a feisty little fucker who can play too.
I definitely wouldn't want two speedy but dim types down the same flank, you just don't need Walker/Lennon or Walker/Fredericks down the same flank. I think Walker's a bit of a fuckwit, but I'd happily see him back in place of the other options we've been living with.
I'm more worried about Poch's insistence on sticking to a 4231 and his choice of CM2 within that. He needs to get that CM2 pair right or switch to a 433 soonish.
I agree but they are loathed to do it.He was standing there, it was the easiest call in the world, you can't tackle from behind for a start. He's come from behind, studs up and scissored him. The fucking trifecta. He could have sent him off three times for that one tackle.
He'll stick to 4231.
We won't be seeing eye-to-eye on this lamela/eriksen thing then. I can't see it working as things stand.
Would love it to, but I just can't picture it right now.
Eriksen has to follow lamela's lead in physical application or he'll go the same way as mata.
this is where that particular piece of itk falls down for me though. he could've called up a youth player instead(ball was on the bench afterall) and not only was lennon in the squad but he came on as well when he could've brought ceballos on instead. maybe there is something to the info but i don't think lennon's in the dog house as much as you hope.
I think if Pochettno can get those around him working well and the CM2 situation solved, Eriksen's lack of tenacity can be accommodated.
Did you stop watching after the first half? Regardless of them being down to ten men (it's often harder to play against as they put everyone behind the ball and just sit back and defend – especially when they are 1-0 up). We played some great stuff in the second half. We really looked a threat. We all see things differently and maybe to you it wasn't that bad. What I saw today was a team completely void of any cohesiveness or confidence. The term "team" is a long way off what I saw today.
I don't know enough about Poch to like or dislike him. I (like many) only know what ITK have said and some youtube vids of his team bonding exercises.
Poch, like many others (including me), has thankfully realised that Rose has been good so no, he's not going to be sold. If you were right, why has Davies only started one game in the PL (yesterday)?Rose will be sold in the sumemr imo. I don't think it gets any betetr with him, he's a limited player.
Walker is a liability. But, yeah, looking forward to the technical work poch can do on him.
Agree, I'm all for acknowledging when our players are acting up - but Ramirez only has himself to blame- Bruce should be fuming at him. Vertonghen just looked perplexed. Why do the idiot pundits keep saying vertonghen went down embarrassingly, Ramirez wrapped his leg in such a way Vertonghen has no choice but to go down, it's not like he rolled around and held his fucking face ?
