But as I said if he had done so none of this would be happening as Spurs would not bother to pursue this deal.

No, TA's agent would be all familiar with what was signed/agreed and would of disclosed that info to Levy in their discussions.

There's no way Levy's over there now having not discussed this stuff with the agent in the first instance.

Can't pretend I care. Thought Fonte had the better season and I wouldn't want to sign him. Put Trippier Dier Vertonghen Rose in their team last year and they would've conceded similar amount, and put their defence in our team and we would've conceded same. Said before I'll be pissed off if Dier is sub league CB this season. Whatever happens hope doesn't distract from what we 100% need in order to have an improved season.

Agree that CM is the area we need to put a lot of attention on. Will make/break our season IMO.

That's not our fault anyway. Best to get it done ASAP then and it will be Atletico that will be the ones that have to pay for their mistake. Even so what's the worst that's going to happen, I can't see them getting fined nearly £5m which is the difference between the two clubs.

Even if they do have to pay out the difference our offer will still be the same as Saints' so won't prevent us from signing him if he chooses us.
