Wet conditions favor the team that makes the fewest individual mistakes and can play the fastest attacking football. That would be us at the moment defensively, but Everton are excellent counter-attacking, so it will be a challenge. Wet conditions also favor players with pace, who can really cause slow-footed defenders havoc in soggy conditions. I'd opt for Son for sure now, but keep Lamela and Eriksen in to help with slick passing on a wet surface. Davies has been much improved recently, but I don't like him against Deulofeu in these conditions at all. I'd much rather opt for Walker/Rose today.

I find it difficult to believe that a team with Everton's quality and a manager of Martinez's ability will contrive to lose three home matches in succession. They will have been doing defensive drills all week, after the meltdown against Stoke. And they have plenty of very exciting attacking players.

In the absence of Dembélé, the only place on the pitch where we have a meaningful superiority is in goal.

Can't agree with that David. We're far superior off the ball and in CB positions and DM. That's our real strength, that diamond of Jan, Toby and Dier.

Yes they're very dangerous and are well capable of winning today but we're a better defensive side than they are - as the League table backs up in terms of goals conceded.

It'll be interesting to see what full-backs Pochettino goes with. I'll be surprised if he goes with Rose/Walker. Got a feeling Trippier will start this one.

I prefer Davies to Rose and hes played more games than Rose this season. I would like to see Trips at RB a bit more in the league.

Please let's not go into meltdown if we lose. It's not the end of the world considering how topsy turvy this league is.

Bottom line is we're still 4th regardless. And people will need to remember how well we responded after the Newcastle game.

But today is a much tougher game and losing is a distinct possibility. A draw would still be a good result.

Very nervous about this one.

Not a must-win, but I think 3 points would go a long way today. Leicester and Sunderland next up - both winnable games imo, especially with some tricky fixtures for our rivals.

Close 2-1 to us I hope.
