It has been said we need £24m to break even on our future payments

But if this drags on for another 2 months then what's that worth in wages? Half a mill? 600k? More?

IMO take the cash and take it early to save the wage cost, we have no realistic chance of fully recovering. Let it go, it was effectively a shithouse expensive one year loan deal. Move on.

Don't think this has been posted yet - MS made VICE's alternative team of the season:

https://www.vice.com/en_uk/article/the-vice-alternative-team-of-the-premier-league-season-2016-2017

"RW: MOUSSA SISSOKO"The man don't give a fuck", goes the song. And this season no man has given less of a fuck than Moussa Sissoko, the one shit-bit in Tottenham's season and a footballer seemingly desperate to finish off what Emmanuel Adebayor couldn't in pure "training with the kids" stink-out vibes.

The £30 million guy had a frantic, fearsome Euros, playing his heart out in the final. But it seems to have been too much for him, so he's taken a little breather for 2016/17, spending his year in north London, sharing gum with Michel Vorm and Cameron Carter Vickers on the Tottenham bench. When he does play, Pochettino lets him on with the weary suspicion of a copper who's letting an apprehended suspect go for a piss by the side of the road.

And in true Adebayor style, he's apparently still wanted by Barcelona. Where he'll probably be brilliant."
Seems fair tbh

Moussa Sissoko speaking to L’Equipe:

“I would like him (Mauricio Pochettino) to communicate better.

“I want a completely honest conversation to see what they (Tottenham) plan to do, what they are seeing in terms of my future.

“From that moment on, everything will be clearer in my head.

“You can never be sure of anything and once again, what I want is for everything to be clear.

“If the manager is no longer counting on me, if he thinks that other players are better, then he should say it.

“The idea is for it to be clear very early so that if I need to leave, my agent avn do good work.

“Even if everyone knows that I prefer England, I have never closed the door to any other league.

“We will see what offers there are and Ligue 1 continues to be attractive – we have seen this season with PSG and Monaco then also teams like Nice, Lyon and Marseille.

“We’ll analyse everything and try to make the best choice."

I would say he's done. If we can get 20 million for him, that's good business.

I hope poch just points to the door and doesn't say anything...knowing sissoko he probably won't be able to follow those simple instructions either.

I read this yesterday and thought he was being daft. Obviously there are better players in front of you that's why you arent starting and when you get a chance to impress you don't

He does seem like somebody who doesn't have the effort to improve. I hope we offload him soon and bring in somebody who can push the team forward. The links with Costa from Munich and Lemar from Monaco are perfect replacements and would cost about the same as he did , maybe less. Costa would massively improve spurs flexibility and options.

He does his best and puts a good shift in whenever he's on the Pitch. He doesn't seem to be creating a shitstorm behind the scenes either. It's not like he's going full Adebayor or BAE, which makes me hold him in greater esteem that both of those, even if they were comfortably more talented footballers.

He just happens to be a pretty limited footballer that's not what we need. Reading some of the comments about him, you get the impression that he's playing badly on purpose just to wind people up.

Except that he didn't play like a "pretty limited footballer" when he was looking to leave Newcastle. Pretty sure he was impressive for France in the Euros and played out of his skin. Was kind of fantastic against us in the final game of 15/16.

Where's that Sissoko gone?

Wish him well, as I don't think he's been a **** or anything, but I can't wait for him to be sold. I don't think we play to his strengths, which makes him look technically inept and like a bumbling bulldozer. I'm sure he'll do well elsewhere. Hope he goes abroad as I couldn't stomach him somehow scoring a 40 yard worldie against us

Have to admit I was thinking the same, in that I'm hoping Poch doesn't have any intention of having him in future plans. If anything he owes Poch a bit, he was lucky to even get as many chances as he did IMO.

Those performances in the Euros have to be the most overegged in the existence of football. Classic case of the average football fan valuing running and some perceived threat over what has been actually achieved with the ball. Sissoko made some charging runs forward against often physically mismatched opponents in the slower, often lower quality, setting of international football. At the end of these runs I don't remember any bit of quality, the killer pass etc. It ended up with zero end product. But hey, he ran well...

The guy is only suited for counter attacking, end to end football where it is all about covering ground and open spaces. For a tight, intricate, footballing outfit who come up against the brick wall it was such a baffling signing.

Definitely the most unpochesque purchase for Spurs... But the question could be, did he ever really want him? Just can't imagine Levy (and Mitchell) doing any deals before consulting Poch first. Either way, a horrible miscast...

Seems like a good lad, but simply isn't a good fit for us and we don't play to his strengths (like Fazio). Wish him luck elsewhere!

Toon fans worried that their club might take him back.

Tottenham midfielder is expected to exit this summer. But would Newcastle really want him?

Tottenham's Moussa Sissoko waits to come on as a substitute

After his big money transfer last summer, Moussa Sissoko's spell at Tottenham Hotspur turned into a nightmare.

The French international was always a strange fit for Spurs and was unable to establish himself as a first choice starter.

Bookies are taking bets on his next move, with Ladbrokespricing Sissoko's former club Newcastle United as shock second favourites.

Newcastle are priced at 4/1, with Marseille favourites at 3/1.

While Newcastle are back in the Premier League this coming season after earning promotion, Sissoko would not be a popular signing.

.

Plenty of good end product you have chosen to forget, the most blindingly obvious being his wonderful pass to Payet which Payet hit the underside of the bar with. He was v good in the summer, unfortunately.

People are too harsh on this guy. Didn't get much time to prove himself, and when he did, a lot of it was wide right, which isn't his best roll at all.

He is what he is: a discount Yaya Toure. I think Pochettino could've played him more in central positions, particularly games where we played Wanyama and Dier as the central pairing, which looked flat at times.

We also say it isn't his best role, but hasn't he played RM throughout most of his career?
