Anyone seen much of Valentino Lazaro - he’s on loan at Hertha from RB Salzburg?

I caught a glimpse of him last week, and though it was just a couple of moments, he looked very lively. Think he was playing ALM ?

first team wise I genuinely think the only area left for improvement is central midfield, as previously stated because of Dembele's seeming inability to sustain his best form and Winks not being where he needs to be yet. I think a lot also depends on how much faith we have in either Winks or Onomah to eventually take that mantle. If we feel that one (or both) will then a seasoned pro pushing 30 could be the one, but one who is more reliable than Dembele. If, as I suspect, they're deemed to have a lower ceiling than required, then we need to be looking at a 22 - 25 year old who we'll get at least 5/6 years out of, Dembele's longevity really is the elephant in the room. I actually think that his great performance v Utd backs this up, because it showed just how much we dominate with a top class player in that role vs not (i.e Dembele vs Sissoko/ Winks/ below par Dembele).

I'd be intrigued to see if someone like Ward-Prowse was viable. Quick thinker, comfortable on the ball, good range of passing and a very good set piece taker. Also a player who knows Pochettino well and really came to promince in Pochettino's full season as manager at Southampton. I guess my concern is whether he's materially better/ has a higher ceiling than Winks or Onomah, or whether he just looks better because he's had more opportunity, but he's currently playing very well. If he sustains it till the end of the season then it may be a signing in line with what has usually worked well for us.

Toby's injury is probably every bit as bad as Rose's but I don't hear anybody questioning whether we can rely on him.

Toby Alderweireld - injured for 2 months. Back in training

Danny Rose - injured for 1 year. Recurrent injury since coming back and frequent reports of discomfort in the knee

Definitely just as bad as Rose's injury!

My wishlist:
Jack Butland (Vorm replacement)
Alfie Mawson (Vertonghen deputy - someone we havent had since Wimmer departed - Foyth is a RCB deputy)
Ryan Sesengnon (Rose replacement)
Lewis Cook (Dembele replcement)

How good is Domenico Berardi? Option for the striker/WF position.

he's been struggling with a hip injury all season - https://twitter.com/s04_en/status/959791893398814725

He said he’s “in the form of my life” on 1/29 (google translate).

After the Stuttgart match BILD addressed the 23-million-man (2016 from Tottenham) on the way to the team bus. His defiant answer: "I am in the form of my life. Ask the trainer why I do not play! "

When Tedesco informed him that he would not be in the starting eleven again after Leipzig (1: 3), Bentaleb broke the collar. Whereupon Tedesco fired him from the squad - and disguised the one-game suspension behind, just talking about poor training performance.

Their coach dress like Steve Jobs.

We paid Leeds £1m for Rose, he wasn’t produced by us, not can we claim he was irrespective of registration rules.

We bought him as a pro.
He wasnt a pro at leeds neither was he with us when he signed, he went straight in to the academy its like saying beckham didnt come through man utd or bentaleb with us

the reason i don't think CM is a priority is that this season we have been without Wanyama for almost all of it, Winks for the majority of it and Dembele for a chunk of it AND Dier has had to play CB or in the back 3 CB's with Toby out whenever Sanchez has had injuries or suspensions. Would be unlucky to have the same situation next year.

Would be inclined to stick with Dembele, Wanyama, Winks and Dier but try to (a) convince Onomah to be a patient member of the squad (b) very occasionally (at home against weaker teams) consider Eriksen in there with a proper DM.

Ok fair enough. But given he made the bench for the Leeds first team (once) before Blackwell got sacked, I don’t think we can lay claim to him coming through our ranks, which was my initial point.

Seen in the papers and media that Utd are in advanced negotiations to sign Justin Kluivert from Ajax..
This has sparked speculation saying Marcus Rashford could be tempted to leave Utd..

I really think we should go 100% balls to the wall for this guy, he could really be the Striker we have who succeeds alongside Kane. He can deputise our wide and has real dribbling ability, along with raw pace and a strong frame, 6ft 1 I believe!

He has only played 1999 mins this season out of a possible 3330 (According to Transfermarkt), it really seems that Jose does not seem to fancy him that moment, and if they have Lukaku, Martial, Sanchez, Lingard, Kluivert and the likes of Mata too, he seems to be out of favour there for whatever reason.

Obviously he wouldn’t come cheap, would probably be a 50m player at a minimum, but for me I think it is honestly worth it. To have him and Dele and Kane, along with Dier, Trips and co, might well even know KWP and Onomah from England?? We live in a footballing world where this is the going rate for a young prospect who has proven a handful in the PL.

I would even be tempted to say that Rose could be involved in some sort of deal...he clearly seems to think he is bigger than us as a club, could be a case of Utd getting what they want in exchange for what we want. I think Rose is more replaceable personally. People like Alejandro Grimaldo, Juan Bernat, Jeremy Toljan, all people who I feel could be brought in to replace Rose.

Most of all though I think it just shows some fucking balls on the clubs part if it was a deal that was doable. We have seen with Utd, Arse and Chelsea that they are willing to do business if all parties are willing to get what they need...I think through sales of Sissoko, Lamela (possibly), Vorm, Llorente, Janssen (possibly?) plus the incomings through sponsorship etc, could be an exciting prospect....

Conclusively...

IN
Rashford
Maddison
New LB
Sess (maybe?!)

OUT
Vorm
Sissoko
Llorente
Janssen
Lamela
Rose (?!)

^^ also brings in a couple of HG players!

Would be classic Mourinho. Rashford cast aside for big money signings.

I believe Rashford has played a part in almost every Prem game this season so the likelihood of him going from highly used squad player to completely not needed is unlikely.
