He praised the Spurs doctor and England management, but pointedly omitted Spurs management. I don't know what he is playing at, especially if this is the first time his parents are finding out. I'm not overly impressed.
yeah if he had been more open he might have got more help.
I haven't been critical of him in the past year. What I'm not overly impressed with is his timing and the particular choice of words. There appears to be a family history of mental health illness given his uncle's suicide. I would have thought he might have wanted to speak to his family first. The criticism of his medical management is bizarre, because he also thanks the medical staff to refer him for help. The fact that they tried a non-surgical approach is very sensible as the first step. I'm sure Pochettino would have been aware of all this. This is the second time he has decided to criticise the club in public and that's what I'm not impressed with. I also don't buy England bring his salvation, because he's hardly played. He's just had the shittiest year of his life with injury, family dramas and depression, and the response is "I'm not overly impressed" and "if he had been more open..."?
It's pretty common with depression to try to hide it from the people you're closest to or from your workmates/teammates and try to struggle through it alone.
I hope some of the people who have been heavily critical of him over the last year can now show some compassion and understanding.
I'd love to see him back on top form again for next season.

It's not the first time and it wont be the last that Danny Rose spews his guts to the media. If he has mental health problems, he clearly still has them as no-one of sane mind tells everyone in a fucking media interview when your own family doesn't even know.
