He must be rested. I would say bring him back for Newcastle and rest him in the week against Watford. He played a lot of games in quick succession.

He played 3 games in 2 weeks.

More about jet lags. I think he said he can't sleep that well the last couple weeks and now he's coming back...must be pretty messed up. Not to mention the pressure to perform for his country, as the best player in Asia.

He sounds like he needs a rest. He's the only world cup player not to get injured. We can't push our luck with him.

It's about mentality I think," the Tottenham Hotspur player said, grimacing and rubbing the back of his head. "If you think you're tired, you get tired.

"After the game I feel tired of course but still I try to recover as quickly as possible and play again. In three days I can recover.

"It's the same when I'm playing with Tottenham as well. I have to recover as quick as possible and look forward to play."

If Son starts against Watford, will he be able to start against Newcastle as well?

Yep. He also had the Asia Cup in August and struggled when he got back only to pick it up after the November int'l break thanks to deal we made with South Korea. I'd honestly have him rested until next weekend but we dont have that luxury thanks to injuries.

Agreed, I think we should stick him on the bench v Watford with a view to him starting against Newcastle.

4 hour time difference mate. If he doesn’t play Wednesday it’s nothing to do with jet lag. Will purely come down to the fact he’s played 3 games in 9 days

I wasnt crowing, just surprised.

Btw, weather wise I have a cousin in Perth, it was 46 there yesterday iirc.
the whole south has been stupid hot mate. Adelaide hit 46.6 on Thursday to make us officially the new record hottest city in Australia. Thankfully cool change in this morning. Loving it! Only 28 today. feels like winter. Lol.
In regards to the National team, without Mooy it was always going to be hard. Then Arzani got injured as well and, well, game over. Plus we don't have the bite up forward. Haven't had a decent centre forward since Viduka.

Think I'll drown my sorrows now. (y)

Anyone else slyly hoped Son would get to the final as it would probably give us more chance of signing a decent player this window?

Nope.

Even if we did sign someone decent who’s to say how long they’d take to settle.

I’d take Son back any day over a new player.

Absolutely not, it would only have resulted in seeing more of Llorente!

Fair point I guess. Anyway thank fuck he's back, my favourite player in this team.

Son's performance in the asian cup was really poor. Maybe lack of motivation, maybe tired. But the korean coach played him as a no.10 was a joke.
