On reflection does anyone else think Dier sitting in front of the centre backs would have been bloody useful, a certain defensive quality protecting the CB's and a handy man to have in a fight which is what we had today.
A shame he wasn't available.

That was a nightmare to watch. Foyth is not ready for critical games and Aurier is just awful. They pressed both of these two due to their tendency to need multiple touches. Foyth at fault for the first goal trying to get in front to jump earlier because he gets bullied off it one to one. Second goal, Eriksen let's the guy run past and again terrible positioning at the back. Son seemed much less up for it as second fiddle to Kane and Winks and Sissoko both seemed nervy and had no out ball (meant to be Eriksen). The balls over the top by us were virtually all over hit except the one Kane might have had a chance from. The fact we had no Trippier on the bench to swap in for Aurier and leaving Foyth on so long was a nonsense. Poch got those wrong.

Sports journo's, fans of other teams will call this performance 'spursy'. Two points off the top was on offer, what else do these professionals need to inspire a individual and team performance, to pretend they are playing Chelsea. Its not good enough, as paying fans we expect more than this dross. Not for the first time this season. There are differant ways to so call 'bottle' a game, they surely were not frightened of Burnley, the inspiration to be 2pts off the top was there, having an off day, come on not allowed at this level. Lack of pre-match motivation hmm. legends, spursy, in some peoples eyes we just reaffirmed the myth.

Spursy was never a term for when we lost knowing that we could have gone 2 points from top in February so if they're happy to call this Spursy I'll happily question what the fuck they're talking about and if you're happy to follow what they say then more fool you.

Nobody said they weren't entitled to be pissed off or angry. If you read my post properly and thought about it, that’d be helpful. Thanks.

Typical. You can't even see when you are contradicting yourself. I suggest you read your own post.

And of course, you had to give my post a negative rating.

I think wingback play makes us too predictable. It becomes easy to isolate the only wide player on one side. We need to move to 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 sharpish, having someone able to overlap a winger would be useful.

I don't see a contradiction.

The post you're responding to replied to a post about someone calling us bottle jobs, nothing about not being entitled to be pissed off and angry. People can be pissed off at the performance but calling us bottle jobs is just utter bollocks, it's tiresome, it's lazy and all they're doing is feeding into the media and rival fan narrative incapable of accepting that teams lose games sometimes and that is actually football.

When we play those formations we tend to only have one player wide as well.

Disaster. The number one quality of a good PL defender is making very few errors. Foyth, despite his talent and Aurier make critical errors consistently and we paid for that today.

We should have played our strongest team, which mean neither plays.

The elephant in the room for me is Eriksen. His form has been dogs shit for weeks maybe months. He might have had his head turned but either way he is just not at the races for me and its affecting us massively regardless of grinding out wins. When he is on his game he makes us tick and everything falls into place but when he is a passenger it massively affects our tempo and rhythm.

The way he just let the player breeze past him for Burnleys second goal without being bothered to try and tackle was a pretty good summary of where he is at right now. He is truly a world class talent on his day and I can only hope his contract gets sorted. Sadly the money he is worth and what we can or want to offer are no doubt miles apart. Put him on parity or close to it with Kane and all will be well but the chances of that happening are slim I think.

We haven't buckled under the pressure but have been punching above our weight for so long that the envitable was waiting to happen

We are and were never good enough to maintain any realistic hope of winning the league

Valid argument when we're playing the top teams, but not Burnley.

This team for whatever reason seems unable to rouse itself for these kind of games. I don't have the answers but it's so so annoying
