It doesn’t make you a better supporter if you can put on a brave face and say “well in hindsight...”

It also doesn’t make you a bad supporter if you’re fucked off about the performance tonight.

Cut the crap.

How frustrating was Son tonight? His touch was terrible. Every touch was a 5 yard pass in front of him to a Chelsea player.

Fuck sake.

TBF he got mugged every time he touched the ball. Mariner let us do the same thing to Hazzard.

All I want is a quaint life. Slippers and pipes and office based absinthe power naps. Maybe even a mild opium habit that escalates in March after a desoltary winter.

But no. I get a screaming queened melodramatic tail end of the season that spills into the window when uneasy speculation embroils us in a summer of anxiety and despair

Smoke or laudanum? I prefer the latter, it's more mellow and that way I find that I don't beat the help quite as often. Especially when Tish retires to the country and I find myself alone with my thoughts and my etchings of the palaces of the Raj.

I think one thing is clear - we are a fairly spineless team without Dele and Dier.

Whatever limitations that you think they have as players, they make us stronger when they play.

But that's NOT what I saw tonight. It's not what WE saw.

We were AWAY to Chelsea - whose squad is far more expensive and far more better paid than we can even dream of through financial doping. An AWAY game we've won ONCE in forever - even before doping.

They came out fast. We dealt with it and took back control and should have been ahead first half. Second half they started better which was disappointing BUT they never really threatened until Toby and Lloris had consecutive howlers to gift them their goal.

The second goal was entirely of our own creation.

Anyone who has followed Spurs for the 20 years I've been in this country knows that we usually get pummelled at Stamford Bridge. Did we get "pummelled" tonight? No. We were pretty much in control but we looked toothless. So did Chelsea. We made the mistakes. They didn't.

Being out of form - or simply not having the overwhelming quality to win regardless of form - is NOT the same as lacking "desire" or "passion" or "guts"

And this is what pisses me off and why I won't "let them have a meltdown if they want"

Because their "meltdown" is more embarrassing and more a disgrace to Spurs than the result tonight. And more damaging.

Because if our "supporters" are such ****s why bother continuing to punch above their weight as this squad has done so brilliantly for the last 4 years?

And the fact is we ARE "punching above our weight". That's what makes them worthy of our support.
This forum, is a fucking forum full of accountants.

What fucking difference does it make that they have spent more than us? Fucking if Leicester had that attitude then they would have been happy to be top half rather than go for the league

The question is, are they better than us? Or have a better squad?

No, did they beat us today? Yes, because we were shit today

I hate the fact that we constantly go to fucking money as an excuse for everything as soon as we lose.

I don’t think Dele is limited at all. He always switches it on against Chelsea. Eriksen needs to get his shit together in the last ten games. He owes us that before he fucks off to Spain

Kane and Son don’t really work like Son on his own, Son has been great but it’s mainly on the fast break. Playing Kane who is great at holding it up stops that break.

Couldn't agree more. Ditto for our goal kicks where we knock it into our own corner flag, fuck about and lose it. Lloris has had an absolute horror season.

The fact that we have the ball on the edge of the area, everyone's screaming 'shoot' and the ball invariably ends up back at Sanchez or Toby, and then back to Davies, sideways again. Oh shit we've given it away... Infuriating.

It's the thing that's annoyed me most this season the constant passing backwards and across that puts so much pressure on us. To me it shows a lack of creative ability and really slows the game down. Most of us can see it but sadly our manager and his team can't. I look back at a couple of seasons ago when we played fast direct attractive football and everybody said it was a pleasure to watch. We are a shadow of that team although they are mostly the same players, it's obvious that was the time to bring in 2 or3 top players to keep the momentum going, we didn't and that's why we will not win the premier title for many years if ever. If anybody thinks it will change in the summer transfer window they are very much mistaken. It's obvious Levy has no intention of spending big in the near future especially as he has a new stadium to pay for over the next few years.
The biggest problem with this is that any decent player will not want to stay at a club that lacks ambition and to me I worry that in about a years time what our team will look like and what sort of quality it will be. This is not a reaction from the last few results it's what's been happening all season.

They can play really well together and have done in the past remember Son has scored 20 goals in the same season Kane scored 30 plus. It's about where and how Poch plays him.

Son didn't have a particularly good game tonight but then nobody did but the Son critics should remember how he saved us in the games when Kane was out recently. Without his goals we would be in a lot worse position now.

I never said it was an excuse.

And given their squad has won two titles in that last 5 years then, yes, they probably have a better squad. They should. It cost about 10 times as ours did.

Which is why I suggest we should have and show a bit more suppor tinto what our squad has and could achieve.

Have IQ's just massively dropped since Ripley went into hypersleep?
