where would he play?
If he came to Tottenham you mean?
If so, then he'd play at stadiums where Spurs would play their games
where would he play?
Think that’s illegal
I’m sure he’ll be in touchIt isnt if its consensual
If he wants us to spunk everything on him - game on
Don’t worry, you can have your ‘Levy is a stingy git’ agenda, you’re entitled to itYou have a quote of De Jong stating exact financials? Could you post it? Because if not then him just saying he was considering us does not corroborate financial claims by ITK. Just sayin
Sounds like season ticket renewals may have just been announced...hertyid: Been a while since I had anything, but word from the training ground is DL has opened the purse strings. MP is talking about spending some cash. But need to focus on homegrown. So I would say Sessegnon, Grealish, Maddison etc more likely than any non-UK players. No idea if this is on the back of TA/CE leaving, or irrespective, but sounds like the cash is there.
Even if Eriksen and Toby stay the need for HG won't be quite so severe once Llorente and Vorm's contracts are up, and if we can move on Janssen, GKN, Aurier and perhaps a couple of other crocks like Big Vic and Lamela.hertyid: Been a while since I had anything, but word from the training ground is DL has opened the purse strings. Don't put words into my mouth and don't deflect. Both are lame tactics that i shouldn't indulge, however, my point had NOTHING to do with Levy. And I'm BSoDL any fucking way. I know I might not pass your purity test (who would?) because I actually have a critical thought pass through my mind once in a while. But even with his warts I love the bald dwarf.Don’t worry, you can have your ‘Levy is a stingy git’ agenda, you’re entitled to it
I'll keep saying this until I'm blue in the face (and people will no doubt keep calling me out for my pedantry), but there is no "need for HG". What there is is a limit of 17 on non-HG over 21s.
But we don’t want to be in a position where we are paying players to train with no prospect of them ever playing. We’ve already got Janssen and Nkoudou in that position and we don’t want to add others..I'll keep saying this until I'm blue in the face (and people will no doubt keep calling me out for my pedantry), but there is no "need for HG". That doesn’t necessarily contradict your point ... yes the focus is on selling foreign players but if we cannot do that then we should not be buying foreign players to fill gaps and should instead focus on HG.
unsure what I says was misleading. Player openly said he had an offer on the table from us which he almost accepted, so unless you believe we would have got that far down the road without having all in place to pay for it, it’s pretty clear.Don't put words into my mouth and don't deflect. You perpetuated misleading information and I asked you to back it up. Instead of just humbly saying you got it wrong you decided to attack me and my point. SAD!
It's nice to see your mid-TW form rounding out but I do worry if you've peaked too early. Can you sustain it for the next 4 months at this rate? I guess we shall see.
Same thing when coming to paying for players to be in the treatment room.
A few of us have been very open about our liking of players such as Lamela, Dier, Rose etc etc etc, but if we're genuinely serious about thinking & acting like a big club, it's time to get serious and forget sentiment.
Some serious medical/fitness assessments need to happen to a fair few players, and SOON. Not at the tail end of the transfer window/summer break. ASAP !.
If there's any doubt whatsoever about their ability to either recover from injury, or maintain fitness, ship 'em out & replace them with someone that can actually be depended upon.
It's time to step up as a club & become the giants that used to create history & set the records for everyone else to break.
I understand why one would prefer Bernardeschi, it's a logical target and hes a grafter. Dybala is a more mercurial talent and thus maybe not such an obvious fit for us. Not that we can afford ether. But I am a big fan of Dybala and loved watching him and Vazquez play together for Palermo. I truly believe Dybala is an exceptional talent who is capable of a lot more then he is currently offering. I also have no qualms about his ability to adapt to the pl. For me Allegri is completely the wrong manager for him and I just don't see their personalities match, were as Poch would be perfect for him I feel. Yes, I may be a little sentimental about him as I was sold on his ability when I saw him live In Palermo in his first season with the club. But even so, I think if he makes the right move to a club with the right manager he will fulfill his potential. You sold on Dybala? I am not and would question his suitability to the PL. I don't rate Serie A at all and wonder if there are better (actually I know there are better for us) fits for us. for instance, I would take Bernardeschi over him every day of the week, more workrate, more physical, less selfish, more contribution to the overall team play.
Dybala is a ManU/Ed Woodward type of signing it seems, a mugs signing, with big transfer and high wages and then your left wondering what the fuss was about. He seems another player that would offer nothing other than goals but we need more than that from our expenditures. Plus, as a rule I am against looking at players taking a 'step down' in profile. Prefer players hungry on the way up.
Unfair to group Dier with Rose and Lamela. He's obviously had his recent hip injury but he had appendicitis before and hasn't even been injury-prone.Same thing when coming to paying for players to be in the treatment room.

HG is a good way to go but subject to our budget it’s the most expensive option. In saying that I’d expect us to stand in better stead at attracting the better HG players than those aboard.
Any of:
Aarons, Sessegnon x 2, Kelly, Lewis, Wan-Bissaka, Grealish, Brooks, James, Sancho, Maddison? Chilwell will improve our squad.
