I actually didn't think we were still even considering D'ligt. Assumed that ship had sailed last summer. So, kinda hard for me to get irked at that particular news.

I thought that his agent is Raiola. Also has Pogba in his stable.
1.We do not deal with him, so I never thought we were in with a chance.
2. Raiola has just been banned. How do any of his players get transferred this window?
We dont deal with Mendes never seen anything mentioned about Raiola

Signed him for Spurs easily on Fifa 19. don't see what the problem is. Ffs Levy

So we aim for small time players only? The best players in the world, the ones that make a real difference generally have an ego. If we want to dine at a the top table with top players then we have to play that game otherwise the best we’ll hope for is top 4 with the occasional final.

If Bale is available and doable we would be crazy to not look at it closely unless we want to just be also-rans for ever and ever.
Big gap in between Bale and small-time. Bale isn’t the profile of player we should be looking at - he’s on the way down, he’s injury-prone, and money is clearly his main motivation given his agent’s comments the other day.

We can aim big with the likes of De Jong and Ndombele we’ve seen ourselves linked to recently, not Bale. That time has passed.

Not Surprised by De Ligt, but pretty shocked at the amount of money Barca are spending. They used to ridicule Madrid for doing the same thing, I guess La Masia isn’t producing enough youngsters to step up

They just make youngsters to sell to stoke and Everton nowadays.

Just what weed is Bale smoking. Is he still expecting wages when he's 22? Ffs

Unless RM is subsidising his wages massively, he will just stay there.

Barca just bought Griezmann for 125M as well. They are fucking mad. What is it now, the 5th 100m+ purchase in the past 2-3 transfer windows? I can really see Madrid sweating a bit over the purchases Barcelona are doing in De Jong/Griez/De Ligt, they might actually try to offload Bale at any cost possible just to match Barcelona in some sort of galactico signing. I think Mbappe or Neymar to Madrid will drag on a lot this summer.

Barca and Real's wage bills must be through the roof

They'll find themselves in trouble if they've got players like Coutinho or Bale kicking about, on £600k p/w as 'squad players'

That said, there may be some bargains for us to snap up this summer if the 'big boys' are having a clear-out

Glad deLigt is off the menu. At least we won't be faffing around for the next few months pretending we ever had a chance.

As brilliant as De Ligt is, for the money he would cost, I feel that it could spent better elsewhere on more pressing areas of need, e.g. centre mid and full back.

We will need another CB if Toby leaves but I'm sure we can find a player at a far more reasonable price that what Barca will pay for De Ligt.
