Apparently Edwards posted more dribbles per game than Bergwijn. Haven’t seen any clips but could we bring him back into the fold over the Summer I wonder?

Good read, thanks for posting.

Personally think there is some more maturing to do there. The misunderstanding bit about Norwich still isn’t accepting responsibility imho. Even if the back stuff is all exactly it, just take it on the chin, say you’ve learnt a load and move the conversation on.

I disagree on this, I don't think it's good to see a player just say the things he's meant to say to move a conversation on, it shows he's being honest when he's willing to take responsibility for some things and not others. I'd say players who are told to just say what people want to hear are the types that repeat the same shitty behaviour but with him taking responsibility for some things but not all tells me he's actually done some real reflection.

Don’t want to derail the thread but he actually doesn’t accept any culpability for it going wrong at Norwich, which I interpret as him not having reflected and matured enough. People should spend more time reflecting on what they could have done differently to positively impact a situation, he’s not finished that process imo. He does seem to have started being more self analytical which is a positive, don’t get me wrong.

Hope he impresses Poch enough on his return to be given the opportunity to fulfil his undoubted potential with us - which would be MUCH better than us buying Bergwijn imho.

Edwards had a decent second half of the season (he admits that himself in the article), which coincided with his dad moving over to NL with him as he was struggling to adjust. However reports from his team mates in the press and having also spoke to some of my mates who saw him play suggest he also added tracking back more in to his game. Not so much to successfully tackle people but atleast to mean his man was marked, which is an improvement from his youth days.

The press piece is well done to make him seem like he's grown up, and I really hope he does. I just can't see him extending his contract with us based on the history that now exists. I also think SB is in a better place to hit the ground running and add immediately to the squad. Based on HG rules it would be brilliant if Poch could get something out of Marcus this season though, and maybe then he'd extend.

Pre-season will tell I reckon.

He probably did but the real problem is that Edwards is struggling for end product at the end of his dribbles. He still gets dispossessed or lured down cul de sacs far too often.
Can’t the club offer him some safeguarding training? He must be a right state by now
