Like I said in the ITK thread, if Palace get the sell on clause removed Levy and Poch may want another look. If we are going with 433 next season and Eriksen stays he may take a more deeper role but with the cover of the likes of Sissoko and (hopefully) Ndombele, he would still be free to roam around in between the lines as he likes to do. A 3 midfield of Ndombele-Winks-Eriksen with Zaha-Kane-Son upfront is tasty. Poch may be looking at how Liverpool's midfield operate.

I'm all for Zaha, but don't think we need him in the slightest right now. I'd be immensely pissed off if we spend a large chunk of our budget on Zaha and miss out on Aarons and Lo Chelso.

One of the things that the club have gotten wrong is squad management and I think and feel this would be the wrong purchase to make when other types of signings are more pressing.

Interesting. I can only assume we’re confident Eriksen will re-sign and therefore have moved on from Lo Celso and will instead spend the money on Zaha. I just can’t see us spending 60m+ on 3 players plus Sessegnon and a RB. That’s Madrid level spending.

Agreed, but if we did, we'd seriously challenge for the title :nailbiting:

Nah. Impresses in spates, but never convinced me that he can be consistent at elite level. Deserves a chance mind, but not for us. Not when we have the likes of Son.

My take on this is how many wingers do we need? If we get Zaha, then that'll be 3 this window alongside Sessegnon (noted he could also play LB but not yet imo) and Clarke. None of those are outstanding players (yet) and it'll be a fair amount of money for the lot of them (50 for Zaha?, 20+ for the sessegnon twins?, 8-15 for Clarke given bonuses. Why not spend that on one amazing winger like pepe if we're that desperate? Or we could probably get ziyech or neves for half that price. Remember that we already have son and Lucas, plus Lamela. I just think we could spend our somewhat limited resources a bit more wisely than by spunking up to 80m on three wingers. I'm actually happy with the three young blokes coming into the club, I just don't see the necessity of Zaha at this point in time given the other holes and transfers

Totally agree. Surely he would block Clarke's path too. We'd be over indexing in AMs and that would have to come at the cost of other positions.

I just can't see that spending 60m on him, and not RB, CM, CM...would make any sense whatsoever

We don’t need him now Clarke is arriving. Spend the money on a DM or Lo Celso even though Eriksen is staying.

I think Lo Celso and a rb are the priority but after those id be over the moon to add Zaha, would eliminate the need for a proper Kane backup imo and let Parrott develop into that. The 2 deals mentioned need to come first for this to be a good idea though.

If Eriksen commits I can see us dropping supposed interest in Lo Celso and using the funds on someone like Zaha. Not sure whether we need him or if he fits, but if Poch is onboard then so am I.

Having read all the ITK this morning I think there'll be a couple of deals, as you say, and then they'll be lots of player juggling, as people leave and new faces come in.

I'm guessing that Zaha is an 'option' as one of the incomings depending in how things pan out

Id hate that because Lo Celso could mean we stop dragging dele back and allow him to join Son, Kane, Moura as one of our attacking outlets

If Zaha is just an added bonus, then I wouldn't say no but I'd want others in first. I'd rather Lo Celso if it's a choice of either/or, as he's younger and I think he offers more.
