If Eriksen has had a poor season I hope Winks has one as poor next season, can't help thinking people's assessment would be different. I saw that link to his family house hunting in Madrid and couldn't help wondering why he wouldn't be with them, if he is still on holiday why wouldn't his wife and child be with him? I guess it could mean his mum and dad but I wouldn't expect my mum and dad to look for a house for me. For the record I still think he will definitely go if they want him and will stay if they don't because he won't go anywhere else but I can't shake the feeling that this is further along than people think, I just hope I am wrong.

Best way to describe Eriksen is a Modric VDV hybrid. He combines both of their qualities well without necessary being better than Modric at dictating a game and better than VDV at pure attacking play and finishing.

He is one of our most tactically flexible players. You very often see him start in the VDV number 10 position and then drop back into an 8 role if we start to lose control of a game.
Very true.

I think if the champions league game against Man City at the new stadium where he clipped that ball to sonny and sonny did the rest, that was world class creativity and vision that none of our other players can do.

While he may not perform in EVERY big games he’s turned up in countless big games and is a world class player, our issue is we just don’t have enough other world class players around him. Trust me If he goes we will have a HUGE hole to fill. Lo celso May go some way to doing that but we will have to change slightly how we play because erisken is pretty unique AND if we want to truely compete with city and lpool then if he goes we will need : ndomble, lo celso AND 1 more top class attacking player like a Zaha otherwise we will just stay as we have been. Same as when walker left we basically downgraded on him and didn’t upgrade any of the rest of the team and then we wonder why we didn’t come 2nd again.

This summer is honestly huge for us.

NDombele woukd create space if he comes and although if Eriksen left we still would need some creativity from the AM we will have more fluidity with all our forward players. So our game will fundamentally change.
Dele needs to take a more attacking role as we change from a counter attack team to a proactive one.
We have Kane Son and Moura as well hopefully darting around also with movement
Whoever would come in for Eriksen would help create but I see more fluidity and less a thousand short passes with NDombele creating from deep

Lets do a final check on Eriksen's poor season, in comparison to previous years:

So, other than the rather arbitrary overall rating score at the bottom, Chris is pretty much on par with his last two seasons, with 6/7 starts less. So maybe he's not been catching the eye as much, due to a withdrawn role and an inconsistent midfield/attack around him; But his contribution was certainly not lacking.
He hasn't aged much in those three years, has he?

So he’s told Spurs he wants to leave for Madrid and told his family to look for houses in Madrid. Going to be funny when he turns up to Madrid’s pre season training and they all go ‘who are you?’

What if madrid have said, see out the final year of your contract and we will sign you next summer for free?

Wouldn’t put it past them.

Eriksen would be stupid to do that and risk Madrid not signing him if he has a poor season/injury rather than taking a guaranteed 4-5 year extension at Spurs.

I seriously doubt Levy or any shrewd businessman would offer their most prized assets to anyone - that's just stupid.

If that's the case we need a sweetener in the deal - Ceballos or Ascensio.

Lo Celso just replaces Eriksen, doesn't really add to what we have. And if he gets injured we are more or less without a influential AM

1 year left on his contract. No choice but to sell if that is the case and RM come in, take the 80 million, get Lo Celso and also one other creative attacker and go from there.

Ceballos is a CM, Ascensio or Isco would be more like for like. One of them and Lo Celso and overall we are stronger.

We have to sell if they're interested. Get rid, get Lo Celso in to replace. It's the best we can do. But i'd hope we would strengthen the team more than just Dembele and Eriksen replacements with a couple of youngsters if he did go.

If he goes, he goes but we need more than Lo Celso if we’re serious about improving- Zaha or Bale or a similarly dynamic player and Lo Celso would be an upgrade but definitely not just a straight change with Eriksen and Lo Celso

If they offer us cash plus Asensio for Eriksen then we’ve absolutely robbed them blind

Where has this idea come from that Ndombele is replacing Dembele other than lazy journalists? Porch clearly wanted Sissoko to fill that role
