For me us trying seemingly sticking to plan A signings is a very good thing. Too often would we move on to plan C or D who rarely worked out (looking at you there Benji Stambouli).

I can see where your coming from, but wasn't that the case last Summer as well where Poch didn't want to look at anyone else besides the players he specifically wanted. In turn they ended up being out of our price range, which resulted in us not signing anyone.

I appreciate the ITK's providing info and being positive based on the info they have, its just that we set the lowest possible precedent by not signing anyone last Summer and the way we are moving about it now is giving me a similar vibe.

Also, I find it very weird that the first sale of our Summer was our starting RB, yet we haven't even been linked with a replacement this whole Summer. The Trippier rumors didn't just pop out 2 days ago, but have been brewing for weeks now yet there has been compete radio since when it comes to a RB.

Could I say something to the bedwetters please. We got in circa 10-12m for Dembele, and never replaced him. We have now with TN. We have now sold Tripps for call it 23m. That is circa 35m total. And a initial circa 53m on TN, we are down 21m, and JC, with a loan back. Very little paid down. How the hell do some shit themselves that we have to sell?

I hinted enough about the RB, and Tripps likely exit next etc, and we would recruit from within Foyth. There are very close pending deals going on. And I won’t say no more than that. And I still expect the Sess/s, and GLC to happen, with couple others.

Thanks for all the updates!

A little bit sad about Tripps, he wasn't great last season but he always gave 100% and seemed like he genuinely loved playing for Spurs . But the club have to keep moving forward.

I think its going be an exciting few weeks!

I'm not sure I understand the idea of getting shot of Janssen and Nkoudou before we can sign Lo Celso
We have now sold Trippier and released Vorm and essentially Llorente (who I think we'll only re-sign if there's space)
There is space for signings this window which was a big problem last window

I think that's fair mate and I actually believe we will have a very good window, but with how last summer went I can understand people's worrys

It’s not about money, it’s the fact that the construct of time exists as well as the window’s deadline and as far as I know - time still moves forward. We don’t have long at all to get shit moving. This notion that anybody that is apprehensive (considering the club’s previous transfer window excursions) about the window is a “bedwetter” is childish.

Not to mention the fact stuff changes overnight. One week you're told we defo sign a rb when tripps leaves, then he does and apparently hes replaced from within. Its allll very fluid for the good and the bad.

Herein lies the problem. Fans who choose to believe every tweet, article, bullshitITK are the ones who end up with bipolar. Choose who to trust wisely and transfer windows are pretty stress free, relaxing even.

Yeah, but people can believe the ITK but disagree with the opinion of the ITK.

JJ is great and his info is top notch but he’s human like the rest of us. He views things in a certain way and others will disagree. We only find out who’s right when the seasons over.

Personally I can’t see how we’re going to be stronger next season, obviously that’s totally subjective. Some will agree and many others will disagree with that opinion but it’s an opinion not a fact and being an ITK doesn’t suddenly turn your opinions into fact.

The reason why people wet the bed is they take an opinion from an ITK and say to themselves all is going to be well coz such and such said so and sometimes if it doesn’t pan out like that the ITKs get flack when they shouldn’t. People need to chill, that I agree on.

Agree with this. The ITK post in good faith what they hear. Last season nearly all were told we were making good signings and were told to be patient. We bought no one. ITK kindly post what they are told, doesn’t mean it will happen. The rest about being stronger etc is there own opinion. Replacing potentially four first team players as well as improving the squad will be extremely hard in one window. Especially with the amount of time we have left to let them settle and bed in.

I remember the "Eric Dier in midfield" thread from September 2015, where we had moved on a couple (Capoue maybe from memory), not signed replacements, and Dier was at a similar point in his development as Foyth. I trust Poch on that one.

True. But nothing points to us not doing anything. There are definitely a few moist bedsheets around, no suggestion it’s all.

And we’ve already done a little bit, which is good.
