The 2 that have been linked heavily and not come have either been on holiday until today or injured so wouldn't have been involved anyway
True and I've agreed with that belief throughout the summer. However, I do imagine that Poch would have wanted Lo Celso wrapped up by at least end of last week so he can get him two weeks of Poch training before the season starts.

If we are still signing him, he will likely have lost a week of that training, that puts him behind schedule and may mean he's not ready for games against City & Arsenal. Every margin is important for coaches when you are wanting to win titles.

Poch is most likely pissed because he wanted new players for preseason. So far he has one. Not ideal.

And yet GLC was never going to get much of a pre season anyway due to his international involvement

Sees being injured on international duty also limits his pre season.

Not really sure why Poch would be pissed when these players were not going to get much of a pre season anyway.

It’s linked let’s not kid ourselves saying this thread has gone off topic. GLCs our main target.. Most of today there were reports from Spain saying we aren’t close to a deal with Betis then this evening Poch isn’t happy. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out why

Didn't Aulas say the same before he sold Ndombele? Couldn't this just be posturing from Betis?

Paid close attention to most. Please explain, I'd love to see the logic behind your comment is all.

It all starts off positive and we all get hyped up. Then the transfer seems to drag on forever but its all assured that it will be ok. Then ITK goes very silent and media reports start to sound negative. We get the annual 'goal posts have been moved' ITK before its finally reported that its all fallen apart and its off.

Loved to be proved wrong I really would but this follows the standard spurs transfer window pattern. Love the ITKs for all of their kind info and feel sorry for them that we can all be negative bastards at times...me included :ROFLMAO:

Anyone else taking Herc's post as confirmation that Poch IS angry, but Toby isn't the reason.

My money's on the follicly challenged fella (No, not Lucas)

Because as a Coach/Manager you want to be planning how you will play. Not knowing your squad a week before isnt ideal and not knowing who or what is being signed is also not ideal. I suspect he doesnt really have a clue what is happening with who he has asked for and how much progress there is.

Either way I can see why Poch would be and is pissed off. I would be too.

He is angry, have you seen his post match press conferences from the last two pre-season games, we don't need ITK to confirm it...we don't need Sherlock Holmes for this one.

It has been hot recently to be fair, might be that.
Meh, has he had tooth ache? I doubt it!

Unless the plug has been pulled on a player that supposedly has been on his hollibobs for three weeks and a player that has an injury - there are no other links bar Dybala in the media for any other player ...

Not sure what else there is to be pissed about, unless it has something to do with something deeper that none of us will ever be privy too.

Probably, but not necessarily with Levy
Could be with all the daft questions
Could be because other clubs are dicking us off
Could be his misses pissed him off
No one knows, but we all blame Levy

Was thinking same thing - if there were no issues with Poch, he could have just said that instead of saying Toby being the reason is wrong.

I was pretty calm and optimistic the entire window but boy the past few days have changed that outlook for me a lot. Something just seems different - the optimism seems gone across the board.

Considering the thread seemed to be full of people saying it's just because he's tired of answering the same old questions and nothing to do transfers I thought it'd be worth mentioning.

Tielemans and Gomes are not the same kind of player as Dier and Wanyama who are proper defensive midfielders... for what it's worth I would have taken Tielemans 100% but not Gomez

But what if signing Tielemans last January meant no Ndombele?

What if we signed Gomes but he stays behind Sissoko, Winks and Ndombele and becomes more like the player we saw at Barcelona?

Maybe they would have worked out but In our position we probably need to be more strategic about signings. We have a lot of experience of throwing money around with little to no effect. Given our situation I can’t complain too much about how we’ve been going about business recently. We all like signings but after watching so many seasons and so much pointless player turnover, seeing a little more caution (coupled with a new stadium and increased value from the academy) is not so painful.

That's where I am too.

If Poch was relaxed and upbeat I think I'd share that in the knowledge that things are going to plan. It's obvious something has happened to bend him out of shape.

Think about it, if he'd been told Lo Celso and Sess were almost signed up and he was asked the transfer question would he really react in that way? No, because he'd be delighted with getting the players he wants and he'd probably be happy to share that feeling. Instead he gets asked the question knowing that things have not gone how he'd wanted and that is a source of irritation.

Imagine if you were having problems in your relationship but wanted to keep it private and someone kept asking you if it was going well? It'd start to irritate you to as it's not a source of happiness and pleasantry.

If you actually watch the press conference, he never at any point appeared to be "fuming." He looked slightly peeved at transfer questions because he answered all the same ones on the Asia tour. Other than that, it seemed like normal Poch, smiling and joking with the media. I think this has all been blown WAY out of proportion.
