This... one... hurts... I was a pure lurker during this time frame. This is when I really felt salt in the wound.

As for GLC, Betis is clearly trying to drag us down to the wire and moved the goal posts. If anything has been learned from this, although its to our detriment, I am kind of impressed with GLC's class saying he wont force a move. Something kinda classy about it. Granted it doesn't make it easy, but it shows he's got a good head on his shoulders.

I dont get it. If betis is so hard to get a deal with. (Or change the deal 1,2,3 times) why don't we change target ?

I have never seen GLC play more than 1 game in copa America. Is he really so good we shouldn't change target ?

I am not sure they are hard to deal with.
Seemed to have no issue in agreeing a deal today with a team for the sale of their second prized asset,

Understand the information that the ITKs were fed, but I certainly am not sure that this is really what happened, and in this case to me based on what we are hearing from Betis side, we are the ones lowballing, changing terms, not Betis as they certainly seem prepared to do a deal if terms are agreeable, and that just makes more logical sense.
I am saying that no deal was ever reached at all in the first place in my view, because we haven't made a bid anywhere near their valuation or minimum expectation.

We didn't buy last summer because we couldn't get the players he wanted and I dont think GLC was top priority last summer.

Because somehow it seems much harder for spurs to buy players. we maybe need to change target when we cant agree with the selling team instead of wasting time and end up with nothing

Or in this case it seems we have agreed but still cant get the transfer complete

I tend to agree, but what if Betis really won’t lower their price? Do you really want us to pay 75M for Lo Celso?

I think the better frustration is why have we not started having discussions on the next man on the list. Surely GLC is not the only 8/10 in all of world football we’d want to add (and with seemingly 50M+ to spend).

Put some pressure on Betis to call their bluff so we aren’t the ones left holding the bag.
