Just seeing the name Lerma makes me angry.
Son red card...right?
Just seeing the name Lerma makes me angry.
Why would any club be interested, given his obvious significant issues since his injuries?
I’m not sure I’d want to risk the financials if I ran a club. I’m obviously excluding my sentimental feelings toward him, which other club owners will
He was an absolute beast for us a few years back. Then injuries took their toll, sadly. Best for all parties to move on but Big Vic will always have a place in my heart.
For some clubs, the league they are in may be less stress on his body. Likewise, when fit he’s a £25-30m player based on some of the fees being paid this summer, but will (according to the rumours) only cost £10-15m. Much like Fekir to Betis, the reduced fee reflects the risk.
It’s like Sandro all over again. Fantastic when he first arrived, but injuries appear to have taken their toll.
Better for him if gets a move rather than stay hanging around, also frees up wages/space for us. Skipp’s emergence has lessened the need to keep him around.
It’s shocking how much he declined as he was brilliant and it’s not even multiple injuries. It was one really bad knee injury which basically has fucked his career. Chelsea away first game of the season at Wembley if I remember when we lost 2-1. Since then he’s had continuous problems.
Lerma's whole performance that game was despicable, morally speaking. I've never gone from being so neutral about a player to hating one in such a short space of time.Son red card...right?
the strange thing is how many of our players have seemed to suffer such incredibly long term issues from single injuries.
I never thought he was brilliant, though. a very good destroyer, but always scared me in possession.
Ex Spurs midfield of Wanyama and Livermore if he joins WBA.
Sounds like Bournemouth are interested too.
Good luck to the guy wherever he decides to go. £11m well spent (assuming we recoup at least half of that)
If he managed to recapture his form from his first season with us, £30m would be an absolute steal in today's market! For some clubs, the league they are in may be less stress on his body. I remember he was decent on the ball. Pulled off a double drag back against the Arsenal midfield and made them all look terrible. In his prime he was the best destroyer I’ve seen play for us. Such a shame it was only one season.I think in his first season with us he was actually pretty good on the ball. He wasn’t ever NDombele level with the ball but he could get by as far as destroyers go but he looks well far off physically nowadays.
Sad as he seems like a top guy.
