Feels like people were aware of a meeting taking place, and when the meeting finished without an agreement people came up with loads of different stories as to why the deal wasn't finished. But very few actually knew the exact details and if the deal is salvageable or not.

If this loan with obligation to buy thing is being suggested with Dybala too, I wonder if that changes the GLC deal. Presuming we’d have to purchase them next summer, that would put us around £120M spent at the start of next summer before even bringing anybody else in. Surely one of them would have to be officially bought on a permanent this summer?

I'd guess that next summer we'd have a lot more cash flow (full season at new stadium and naming rights deal completed) ?

Don't we have until 7pm if certain paperwork is completed in time? I know I'm just grasping at thin air and looking for anything to make me more hopeful, but I'm pretty sure that's a thing - Right?

I suspect we would simply ring fence most of that money this summer, in euros ready to go. I don't think it would make much difference on our budget next year.

Dybala's value is less likely to drop though. If they don't sell Mandzukic now, he will probably be worth even less next season
sure, but they need the money, and they need it soon. Dybala isn't likely to have a major role at Juve this season. I suspect value would be lost there too.

If it helps at all - I know sometimes my "I work in an industry that sells multi-million pound assets" are annoying - but I genuinely did a deal two weeks ago that was literally dead the week before. "Insurmountable" was the word used by my client. Deal went through didn't it. It was a slight snag that needed some clever people to think for an hour or two. All the big deals I am involved with have last minute snaggles and agents panicking. The Real Estate press is hardly as big as the Football Rumours press, but things get leaked (deliberately and unintentionally) all the time.

I don't know if that helps. But until that final dong rings (hehe, dong) then I'd take everything fairly lightly.

I personally dont think we will give up on this deal until the very last minute unless juve pull the plug.
