Looking forward to everyone learning the correct spelling of his name over the coming weeks so that we no longer see NDombele / N'Dombele / N'dombele.

You know, just like everyone did with Eriksen.
I was waiting for some media clip to load there but it just never appeared.

I don't think Ndombele should be an automatic starter - but even with his apparent legginess (lack of fitness at EPL levels perhaps) he has looked so good that he will play.

Ideal really as that's how he'll improve and get used to our style and pace of play.

But I have to say, at the moment I'd rather see Winks play longer than Sissoko, who for me hasn't looked as sharp as last season.
They'll be plenty of games to go around.

Seems to me he's one of those SO WHAT players, you know the ones who receive the ball have three Man City players charging in to press him and get the ball off him and he says, SO WHAT! they just didn't seem to ruffle him at all, he seems to lumber along but that's his camoflage, he has really sharp reactions and moves the ball or passes the ball just as they go to take it off him and they are left wondering where it had gone, I saw that a few times and it was just the same in a Lyon game at the end of the season in which I made a point of watching him.
Think he'll get the "lazy" tag from our fans because of his style of running, when in reality that's just how he runs. Like you said, it's almost a camouflage for his sharp reactions and quick turns.

I’d like to see him in the same team as Dele Alli.

Dele does a lot of good defensive work, is very mobile and has great positional sense. I can imagine the two complementing each other well, and making a very dangerous combination and a potentially lethal defense to attack transition.

Regarding all this talk of dropping Winks for a more physical midfielder, I'd be curious to see Lo Celso paired with Ndombele in a CM 2. He may be seen as more of a creative, lightweight option but he's actually a lot more tenacious than Winks and his defensive stats for PSG, where he played in a more defensive role, were really rather good. He doesn't have the metronomic passing of Winks, but is capable of breaking the lines from deep with his runs. This, along with his good long passes and shots so would also help our offensive game a lot, while still leaving an obvious position for Eriksen further forward (if he doesn't leave).

In short - if the partnership works it makes us better both defensively and offensively than we are now.

Winks, while a good player with a unique set of skills in our squad, isn't good enough to build an entire team around. If we can pair Ndombele with someone else that makes the team more effective as a whole, Winks might have to be reduced to a squad/rotational role rather than a guaranteed starter.

I think you are right about Harry Winks, as the season goes on he may well find himself number three in that trio.

Considering that (1) this was his second game for us, (2) it was against perhaps the top team in the world, and (3) he is only 22 years old, Ndombele did insanely well. The vision, speed, and accuracy required to spring Lamela for his goal was a thing of beauty. If anything, the "bedding-in" process is going to involve the rest of the team getting acclimated to his passing abilities. Add Lo Celso into the mix, and this is going to be an incredibly fun team to watch for years to come.

Unfortunately this will be labelled at him I reckon, a bit like Adebayor who as well looked lazy but in fact was far from

It says thigh, not hamstring. Unlike with Dele and Sessegnon where it's specifically stated they have hamstring injuries.

Ok. Might be better I guess.

Physio Room has it as a hamstring strain. Not sure if that is correct info of course.

At least it’s against Newcastle and not a tougher team I suppose.
