We need to give Dier a game or at least some minutes, maybe in defence; and Wanyama if he is going to figure in our squad. Dele too needs match fitness unless his injuries mean he still has to be handled carefully. Davies perhaps need some game time as well. If fit then Sess needs to be at least on the bench. I would of course love to see Parrott given a start; to have someone in the academy who is not just another dm clone is great.

I'd go with:

Gazzaniga
KWP
Davies
Dier
Sanchez
Wanyama
Skipp
Lucas
Eriksen
Dele
Parrott

Bench:

Whiteman
Tanganga
Aurier
Bowden
Winks
Lamela
Son

Would swap Tanganga and Bowden on the bench for Sessegnon and Foyth if either are fit enough.

KWP
Sanchez
Tangaga
Davies
Dier
Skipp
Eriksen
Alli
Lucas
Parrott

Whiteman
Toby
Aurier
Wanyama
Ndombele
Lamela
Son

Foyth & Sess for either defender on the bench if fit.

Hugo, Jan, Rose, Sissoko, Winks & Kane nowhere near the side as they would all be key players for me over the next 3/4 league games plus Bayern.

If Sess is fit:

Gazza
Aurier Dier Sanchez Sess
Skipp Ndombele
Lucas Dele Lamela
Parrott

Let’s get a system going, some key minutes for potential first teamers, and Dier as Captain.

As long as Parrott starts I don’t really care who else plays

Unfortunately you'll be disappointed. Bench maybe but to start is stretching it a bit. Poch will have to make sure we win this one or else..............Alarm Bells Will Be Ringing for him!!!!!!!!

Eriksen needs to play to find form. Parrott needs to play and give Harry a break. Dier needs to play and show he can perform above Victors level.

Tired unmotivated legs won't save Poch's job, some youth sprinkled in to add energy might

Question is; do we care for the Carabou Cup? Is it time to get a little bit creative and give the younger and the not so match fit players some time on the pitch?

My pick would be;

Gazzaniga
KWP Eyoma Sanchez Davies
Dier Ndombele
Moura Alli Sessegnon
Parrot

Let's have it

Dier, Moura, Alli, Eriksen, KWP, Sanchez all need to start in my opinion.
I would love to see some involvement for Skippy and Troy.
I would add that this has become a very, very important game. A good performance and victory will set us up for the next few premier league games.

I bet that we are not going to see Parrot from the start. Pochettino has never played the youngsters in the cups. Look at our first XI - Winks is the youngest, and he is already 23yo. I doubt that with a such record that Pochettino has here, he comes across as the coach who trusts the youngsters. There is no manifestation that this is his hallmark any more.

You are absolutely right, but it only emphasize my conclusion. In comparison to the others clubs from the top 6, it seems that our youngsters do not have a chance being promoted to the senior squad.
