I've been a strong supporter of Poch but the manner of that defeat was very worrying indeed. The players just seemed to throw the towell in for the last 10 minutes; suggesting the he has lost/is losing the dressing room.

To be honest if there's a stand off between the players and Poch I know who I'd back but the

I thought they gave up before then. It was about 5 minutes after the Kane penalty we just dropped our intensity to nothing and gave up.

What ever happens with Potch and I for one hope he is given time to sort this out but even if he isn’t it is clear we need to spend in January! Also need to get rid of some of the players in the squad Such as Aurier and maybe one of Toby/Jan and Eriksen if a good offer comes in. But we certainly need a New RB and a centre back are much needed. The big question is though will Levy back Potch/another manager in the January transfer window.

You're very likely right - that second half is still a blur at the minute. Can't quite believe what I just saw!

To be honest if there's a stand off between the players and Poch I know who I'd back but the players always seem to win in this scenario. Truly sad to see - I heard somebody at the game tonight calling for 'that Argentine bloke' to go. He deserves much better than that - he has done so much for this club and should be respected.

He was talking about Foyth

Can someone answer this.

Even when Chelsea, City, United or Liverpool had bad form and a manager under pressure, did they ever get hammered in this manner.

I can only think Arsenal at United 8-2

It isnt Poch's fault. It's Levy's. He's fucked us over. Big time. We need to be sold. It will be the same garbage under another manager but we'll be worse off not in CL anymore. We needed investment and Levy did his usual garbage.

Whilst I agree that the no-signing windows fucked our momentum, our current squad is objectively good.

The lineup tonight (bar a decent RB) is a very decent team, and excluded Eriksen, Lucas, Lo Celso, Dier, Sanchez etc.

This team should be comfortably third but atm we're looking pretty far off a top 4 finish (even given how shit everyone else is). That's on Poch, sadly.

The stubbornness of Poch and this awful diamond he keeps playing, almost makes me think he wants to get sacked. Why else would he keep playing it?

Until now, the one thing that has reassured me is that, although we were getting beat, we were never getting thrashed. I think there's been one defeat by more than two goals in the last three seasons.

Consequently, it's the magnitude of this defeat that worries me. It speaks of a manager losing the team. Look back at the last time we lost at home by a five-goal margin. AVB was the manager and he was gone within 24 hours. 'Mutual consent' they said...

To be fair, that came three weeks after a six-goal thrashing at the Etihad and this, for me, is why I think Poch has one last chance. However, if we give up like this again, he's gone.

I mean not even Tim Sherwood oversaw a home defeat of this magnitude.

Although, to be fair, he gave it a fucking good go...

I completely understand all the calls to give Poch more time as he has credit in the bank. The problem is that he is being given time to sort it out but continues to make insane tactical decisions over and over and over again. Diamonds might be forever but they are not a great formation for our football team. Neither is the constant dropping of players in good form like Lamela or Lucas and replacing them with players clearly out of form. When we played our best football over the last few seasons we had Dier or Wanyama as a true protective DM. Not sure why that has been binned. The list goes on and on.

Poch has amassed a massive amount of credit and will be given time no doubt. The issue is if he can't fix it in that time, the damage he does may well take a long time to get over. He looks clueless at times now and incapable of making the necessary tactical changes. He is either being stubborn as he believes he is right or he has lost the plot.

Been said before, but the problem with replacing Poch is who we bring in?

We need a winner, but all of those will want money to spend and not have a drawn out committee meeting on how and when to spend it.

So we’ll almost certainly end up with someone like Howe who won’t demand much but will be a retrograde step.

I personally think Ancelotti would be a good choice.

Amazingly I don't actually think losing 7-2 at home was the most worrying thing tonight. It's when we'd pulled it back to 4-2 up until we conceded the fifth. With the amount of time left getting back in the game wasn't impossible. We saw that in Amsterdam. There was even a bit of belief on the terraces. But on the pitch? Next to none. We were totally pedestrian, no runs, no width, no urgency. That more than anything for me shows a squad that is either totally unfit, has totally lost its fight and belief, or both. Either way, the buck stops with the manager on those issues.

Agreed but I think other than Pep or Klopp anyone would be considered a risk even if they are a proven winner.

The players don't believe in the system, en large they never have
They don't believe in the system at all. They have made that repeatedly clear to him and yet he persists with it.

He's never been tactically good, he's a motivator. That now can't motivate, because he's too stubborn to listen!!!

We went two transfer windows because he would only accept a very small number of players that were at the time unobtainable, now that stubbornness has gone to a whole new level.
@yankspurs It's there in black and white from ITK, so you can take your "we love Poch" t-shirt off now.

That’s it then. Mourinho or Ancelotti it is

But once again, he will want money to spend. We have a squad of good players, but it’s unbalanced and any top manager with pedigree will want to shape it in his own way.

If Poch goes I will be placing a bet on Howe as next manager immediately.
