Still can't believe it, I'm gonna impose a media blackout I think...pretend it never happened.

I'd do the same but unfortunately there are too many people at work who keep talking about to me. It's gonna be a bad day.

It's the 7 goals that makes it worse. If we'd been beaten by Bayern at home 1-2 we'd still be complaining (obvs) but shipping 7 goals at home (!!) suggests a deep malaise.

*puffs out cheeks*

Think time might be up.

I woke up this morning disappointed he is still here. Can't believe what has happened to us, from being talked about as the only possible team to challenge City and Pool this season, to this.

Theyd certainly had beaten Colchester....

What kind of nonsense is that? They’ve both lost against shit teams before. It’s football, shit happens. On paper we shouldn’t have beaten City in CL, but we did.

All the Poch is shit and stubborn leaks start, mostly fed by the club. The root cause of this shitshow is not Poch.

Levy generally makes an appointment with the longer term in mind. He's not the kind that generally goes for a quick fix. Even where the manager hasn't worked out, he would not have seen them as a short term fix (Redknapp possibly aside).

Poch will most probably never get to play Lo Celso.

And I really don’t get what has happened to his man-management skills - they were his best quality in spits of his often tactical weirdness...

How can one of our greatest ever managers go so crap so quickly..l
You can criticise him tonight, this season and the whole 2019 but to say he’s never been tactically good is just bs. Do you think he made us a consistent top 4 team with the squads he’s had only because he’s a motivator? Please think about what you’re saying before writing stupid stuff like this

He deserved/deserves to only approve the signings he wants and it’s the clubs fault we’re in this position. If they just backed him fully from day one we wouldn’t be in this position. Even this summer wasn’t good enough despite what people say

In January we need to buy a DM and a RB no matter the price, it’s time to stop being cheap fuckers
He got the best out of them consistently and we only had one way of playing. As soon as teams just sat deep week in week out we struggled. He's never really had a plan b and I'm ok with that as long as you persist with a working plan a.

As for the transfers. He said repeatedly he would only but players that would improve the squad. Well in his view that consisted of only 4 players. That in itself is laughable.

we've now got apparently 6-7 wantaway players that are the problem causing trouble etc. Yet he's still playing all of them week in week out. The players are unhappy and it's more than those listed numerous times in this thread. We'll there are more than that and we will need an entire new side to eliminate the issues at this rate.

I've never seen or heard of a manager that's managed to turn a squad round from this position before and I doubt very much he will now.

Poch is a great manager, delivering in the toughest league in the world and getting us to the CL Final last year- a miracle when you compare our resources to some of the clubs we were competing with.
No club maintains a relentless upward trajectory- there are times of stagnation and going backwards- but in his first setback people want him to leave? Madness. Replace him with who? Someone else who is then fired as soon as he suffers a setback.
Stick with Poch and keep him at all costs, he will get us moving forward again soon.

Take a look back to April 2018 in this very thread. This isn't something that has reared its head just lately. Poch might not be totally at fault, but right now he is at the fulcrum of everything that is going on, on the pitch. I remember when we first signed poch and Southampton fans were saying that he doesn't have a plan B and that his training methods are too brutal, which leads to a drop in the press that he builds his system on and when that is gone, what do you have left? A manager that is found wanting.

GET RID OF HIS STUBBORN DIAMOND FFS?

MAKE UP YOUR MIND ABOUT CERTAIN PLAYERS LIKE AURIER AND BIN HIM/THEN. BRING BACK DIER!!!

It really is that easy. If we can all see it and the manager cant then we have a real problem.

Levy and him must be chucking croissants at eachotehr by now. Surely Poch has had a bollocking this morning

Poch has failed to turn it round since second half of last season, don’t see how things have changed

I have a theory and the potential player unrest about formations

Could it be to do with Kane's fitness? Playing a diamond allows Kane not to press and let Son and lamela/dele do it

This is no way a slant on Kane as he is the best player I have ever seen at our club

Playing 4-2-3-1 probably allows opposition to come out from the back way too easily?

Players realise the formation is built for Kane which is causing issues

The only player in this formation benefiting from this formation is Kane and Son

Doesnt explain why he wont copy Liverpools or Citys formations but maybe he had/has ambitions of being being better but cant be better by playing the same way due to having inferior players?

The only thing that’s going to make last night sting any more this morning is Poch keeping his job

Yep. Pray he’s gone by lunchtime but I doubt it unfortunately.

Just hope Levy has his finger on the button and has seen what we’ve seen the past year.

Feels like the best possible solution is that someone else (Madrid, United) are so desperate that they make Poch an offer and pay us some level of compensation.

Can't see Levy paying £25m+ to terminate Poch's contract and the contracts of his staff.... Too big of a hit, especially considering that Eriksen, Verts and Toby are also going to be 'written down' to nil when they leave on free transfers at the end of the season (a serious piece of mismanagement by Levy btw).

Unfortunately, the majority of performances over the last 9 months aren't going to improve his attractiveness to the likes of Madrid or United - and last night's result is a serious blow to his reputation.

Hard to see what events trigger a change unless results (and league position) get so bad that it forces Levy's hand to the point where he's prepared to take such a significant financial hit just to be done with Poch.

So who is? Levy isn't picking the teams. The players aren't choosing the system to play.

Levy didn't just decide to not sign any first team player for 18 months for a laugh.
