Eriksen publicly pushed for a move despite no club actually being in for him. At least when Berbatov, Modric etc did it there was a genuine deal waiting to be done.

Levy wasn’t ‘asking too much’. There was no negotiation. Madrid didn’t want him.

They probably knew the price and said no thanks we'll wait.

Out of interest - just throwing this out there but realistically if Poch totally dropped him and we failed to win without him (not that we are doing brilliantly with him), I wonder whether people would be calling for Poch to bring him back into the team after a few games. I've lost count of the players that have been dropped or sold (players that were royally slagged off as not being good enough) and then sure enough it's "we should never have sold/dropped him."
But he ostracised Toby and Rose for almost an entire season over similar problems. As much as I've loved having a player of Eriksen's quality here, I would be expecting him to be similarly left out. Its clearly detrimental.

I agree with this, I don't think Poch made a good decision selecting him.

But when I see things like "Eriksen should just f*** off" it angers me.

He has given us more over his tenure here than most and to speak of him in these terms is in my opinion disgusting.

I believe he wanted to go, I also believe Levy was probably asking too much for him and that's why he did'nt go.

Levy has messed up by showing no loyalty to Eriksen and his service to us.
Don't know about blaming Levy, when Eriksen was playing well and we wanted to keep him, offering him contracts, Levy was well within his rights to ask for top money for a top player.
It's a business in the end and you can't sell your assets for less than you deem them worth.

Here’s what mou would do with the team
————————Lloris
Toby ———Sanchez——Verts———Davies
—————Sissoko ———Dier
—Lo Celso———Ndombele————Son
————————Kane

He would then call Dier a fat **** which would upset Dele. He would then complain about ndombeles running and play Foythas a #10. Sanchez would make a mistake so he’d sign a €40m garbage replacement from guinea Bissau with PA 178 on FM20.

Kane will do his ankle as he attempts to play his 70th consecutive game. He will then play Parrot as Levy refuses to spend €95m on Timo Werner (PA: 193). This will lead to the sack as we grind out our 4th consecutive 0-0 draw having won the league cup and finding ourselves in 12th.

We will hire Scot Dale the up and coming Charlton Athletic manager and Parrot will become top goal scorer. Mou will subsequently take credit and use this as proof of his faith in youth. He’ll even take credit for Dier’s eventual weight loss, even though he knows full well that is down to weight watchers.

Quite the imagination you have there.

We can't lower expectations whilst the club are charging the eye-watering prices that they do. So even though I'd be aghast if we moved for a Howe-type rather than a Mourinho-type, the silver lining to that dark cloud is that maybe such an appointment would lift the scales from people's eyes on the Board and attendances would drop at the new stadium. Which you'd hope would be the catalyst for the club to either lower its ticket prices, or alternatively start acting on the pitch like a club who can justify its highest-in-the-world ticket prices.

Not going to happen though, the ENIC gravy train will keep rolling on.

The only silver lining to appointing Howe would be I win £90.

I totally understand the calls for him to be dropped - the guy is adding little value to the first team (and how he expects to attract a team like Real Madrid playing like that is anybody's guess) but you know how it goes with these situations - players that get sold or dropped seem to be stripped of all the criticism that they were given before they left.

So far in 2019

0 wins in 11 away games.
6 wins from 23 league games
23 defeats from 45 games

We've lost a total of 69 games from 287 under Poch.

Before 2019, the record was 242 played, and only lost 46. Astonishing how anyone can continue to defend the man. This is not a blip in form.

Something has happened to change that. It must of. There's no way we go from being the team we were to this without something big happening behind the scenes. All I can think is its to do with the manager and being not allowed to take the Man U job or something like that. It's the only thing that was happening at the time that could have a baring on this change and then subsequent funk.

Despite now thinking it really is time for a change, I don’t think Poch is going to be going anywhere unless we drop into the relegation places...... and despite being shit, we’re not that shit *

The slating of Eriksen is abhorent.

I suppose it is a snapshot of society these days, and I think it's pathetic.

I think Eriksen looking after himself and not showing up for most of the past 12 months is abhorrent. Far worse than a few sagging him off on an online message board

After losing the Champions League final in 2018, Klopp didn't sulk in his house for weeks on end and pretty much act like his one shot at winning the biggest trophy was gone for good. He kept perspective and used that success to push his team forward and actually win it the next season.

It almost seems like the CL final defeat has harmed us rather than push us forward. Talking about maybe quitting if we won was so damaging. It was such an all or nothing, short term attitude. It didn't then make sense to talk about a 'painful rebuild' and a 'new phase' of a project. Talk about mixed signals: is he completely invested in a major project, or one result away from quitting?

It doesn't inspire confidence but rather mistrust and confusion.
