What I don't understand is why they (Levy and the board plus Poch) don't make it a little hard for him and force him to make a decision. If he still played well, but wanted a move to another club, It would be different. But he's not. Put him in the dark. Tell him that if he finds a club that wants him and which is willing to pay Spurs the desired price, he can go in January. Or he can choose to renew his contract whenever he finds out thats the right decision. Until then he won't be picked at all, cause his head seems confused and he doesn't have the right spirit and mentality now. Let him think about it. Maybe he would leave for free next summer without playing another more game for us this season. That's the "risk". But so what? Right now he's playing like crap anyway.

Yes and I agree. When you go out public and say that, it's the managers job to find out if's he's going to be professional or not. It's his job to set the team. But clearly Poch believes he's professional, but Eriksen is not performing, so Poch should bench him anyways. But he's not. So something is clearly wrong somewhere. That's what I mean with the bigger picture, people forget that.
Off course it is Pochs decision. But it was Eriksend decision to make this mess. He could have been more humble and loyal and professional. But, he chose another strategy this summer, which failed. Now we all pay for that. Himself included. Right now it seems like FC København is the right move for him, and not Real Madrid. I think he should get the rest of the year to make a decision, without being picked. No more games in 2019. And if he really is depressed, it is clear he shouldn't play. Then he needs serious help.

2nd best player in the squad, no one else can pull the strings of a match like he can

I get why poch keeps playing him for above reason.
Keep playing him and hopefully he rediscovers some fight. Maybe through one good game. Poch seems like a loyal guy, will always stick with his best senior players . Probably doesn't help that lamela is injured and Lucas is inadequate at playmaking, and who knows what le celso's real level is right now, none of us work with him

Christian probably works as hard in training as he has always done.
I don't think eriksen is purposefully being shit. He's always been a bit weak mentally, I think he's just going through the motions after his big move failed in the summer. He's lost that eye of the tiger like rocky in 3
Needs a change of club, scenery and league. or apollo creed to coach him

I don’t even want him to sign a new contract. He doesn’t deserve one. And if he did he’d expect to be among the highest earners, no way does he deserve to be looking at his form for over a year. If by some miracle he does regain some kind of form ( which I seriously doubt ) after signing a new contract with us it just shows he’s downed tools for over a year. I don’t want someone like that at our club. Or as expected regardless of signing a new contract he continues to play poorly we’ll be stuck with a player on huge wages we can’t get rid of like those lot down the road with Ozil.
On another note I can only think that Poch is continuously playing him to get some sort of fee in Jan otherwise I can’t see any logical explanation why a player in such poor form is picked.

Surprised this thread isn’t full of ‘Poch Out’ for dropping Eriksen. Maybe I’ll give it a couple of hours.

Should have started instead of Kane. Showed him where the goal was. Definite starter for Saturday.

Honestly it pisses me off so much how much hate he’s been getting. Criticise him, fine but it feels like soooo many genuinely hates him. I regret doing the same thing to Trippier, hope everyone regrets doing it to Eriksen

Still something massively wrong - the goal masked it somewhat but he still missed some fairly simple passes.

Still hope he can turn it round for us and I don't buy that he's downed tools or lost interest.

2 key passes today, couple of mis placed ones and a goal but overall it's a positive performance.

Happy for him tonight and if he can find a bit of form that would only help us but i don’t want to see him starting on Saturday after Lo Celso tonight.

He started off just as he’s been playing recently but stepped it up after a few minutes. Of course he played much of that with red star down to ten. He can continue to be a key player for us but we need to give Gio a chance moving forward and let him force his way back in.

His touch and passing were beyond abysmal again. A clever finish but somewhat lucky goal doesn't mask that. Needs to be benched on Sat.

Thought he looked much brighter tonight. Set up good chances on cutbacks to Kane and Lo Celso. Good snap shot to force a save. He had poor moments to be sure, but for me it was the best he’s looked since Villa.

I don’t particularly care for him but Poch is sticking with him and as long as he’s wearing the shirt I’ll certainly hope he performs to his best level. He really ought to be behind Lo Celso in the pecking order but there were some signs tonight he’s beginning to claw back a measure of confidence. It’d be massive for us if he could rediscover a bit of form in the time between now and January.

I love what he done for us in previous seasons but the way he has been for almost a calendar year has, for me, shot his legacy to bits.
