No, congratulations will be if he plays the same team against sheff Utd rather than bringing Eriksen etc back in.
Why can we not congratulate him? If someone gets something right it’s a well done. He got a lot right today

if he goes back to the same old on Saturday then he rightly deserves criticism. But not tonight

While the competition was weak, he certainly picked the right 11 and put them in the right spots. They played patiently but were able to penetrate the parked bus. I hope he learned something from this.

Tonight was the first time this season where I feel like we saw a glimpse into the future. I think this is the base for the new team. We clearly need a new LB (possibly Sessegnon) DM and potentially a CB although Dier did a great job.

Lot's of positives:

Lo Celso - obviously: great interchange with the other front 3, great link up with Foyth, great pressing, won the ball a lot including in our own box, very happy with the tenacity.
Dele behind the striker - I know this wasn't his best game but the important thing is he's being moved back into his best position and at times was playing beyond Kane. Great to see.
Foyth - had a good game, tougher games to come but great line up with Lo Celso as mentioned, looked decent.
Dier - So happy he played CB, very happy with performance and I wonder if this could be the start of something long term, sterner tests to come but great to see him back in the fold.
Sanchez - growing with every game
Ndombele - Awesome in that deeper role, great work for the 2nd goal
Sessegnon - Incredible to a see a full back who doesn't just whack the ball across the box in hope, picked out players well.

It's been a gradual (too slow) transition into Poch starting to put things right, firstly the 4-2-3-1, putting dele back and finally starting Lo Celso and starting Sanchez and now I'm looking for the next steps of Foyth being consistently in the team, Sessegnon taking the LB spot and then for me the next step would be trying to get Dier involved consistently but possibly that can come earlier. Then onto January and hopefully we target primarily a DM and possibly look at CB/RB too.

Tougher tests than this ahead, none more than the test of not reverting back to a shit selection for Saturday.

But then you are holding him to higher standards than every other manager, as they also did. I concede that Ranieri is the only coach at this moment that has finished above Pochettino with a lower budget, but he is also the only 1 that has done that AT THE MOMENT. That is some record in 7 years.
After this window I'm pretty sure that klopp has a lower net spend than pochettino.

I really hope we've turned the corner. I'd love nothing more than us to put a number of wins together. Then to go into the January window with a renergised squad.

Sorry but it’s Because he’s ‘got it right’ before then fucked about with the line up and formation, @Trix @ValenciaYid will attest to that, we’ve been banging on about it for ages. Yes sure we did well tonight and the team worked well BUT the key here is can he now keep that same team and start them against Sheffield United or does he revert back to type and bring back in Eriksen, winks, aurier etc.

lets see.
