I know we'd all love to see him getting game time, but this should be a real test of character for a young player. Lots of 17-19 year old look like wonderkids, with the football world at their feet and then they become complacent, have too much too soon and disappear into League 2 or the Portuguese league.

In a way it's a positive to see how Jack handles this, not being told how amazing he is and that he really has to fight to prove he is worthy at starting at Leeds, let alone us. Whilst i'm frustrated by this, i hope he goes the other way and really knuckles down to prove Bielsa wrong and to show just how good he is.

Let's see.....

Hasn't the issue been the amount of loan players Leeds can field as opposed to anything changing from a form point of view?

Not recently, recently he makes the bench, Bielsa makes two subs every time but not a third, even if they’re chasing the game, and Clarke remains an unused sub.

Basically, Bielsa is playing politics and saying ‘I didn’t want this situation so I’m going to make a point regardless of footballing priorities’.

Sounds a bit familiar...

Wouldn’t mind him playing the odd game here, if we see him as part of the future why not get him involved

I'm worried as to whether he's actually going to end up being a good player or not. In the admittedly small sample of games that I've seen him play in, I don't think he's looked a cut above his Championship team mates, and we're now in November and he's still not even close to playing even semi-regularly for his hometown club.

Obviously too early to make any definitive statements, but I can't lie and say that I don't see seeds of worry that we may have bought a dud.

And that's before he even gets here,
so what hope is there
for an 18 year old boy
yet to make his Premiership
and Spurs debut

'Duds' we've bought plenty of those
over the years
and paid a fortune
for some of them too.

I think he meant to say
Welcome to Tottenham Jack.

We will end up loving him more than Bale, don’t you worry.

I wont lie, and say that seeds of doubt haven't sprouted in my mind too.
However, I liked what I saw of him last season and know a fair few Leeds fans who not only rate him, but also warned me that he'll need time and patience to reach his potential.
I think there are other reasons that he's not playing much, rather than ability.

You’ve always been very confident about him. What’s that based on?
The one match I watched him in live, having no idea who he was, and being left astounded by the pure verve with which he played the game v Derby.

I grew up in love with attackers who could float. Ginola, Figo, Berbatov, Djorkaeff, Waddle, Lentini, Baggio. If I were old enough I imagine I’d have loved Crutff. Clarke looked in that mould.

I only watched that match because of Spygate, and by the 60th minute I was trolling my Leeds mate saying Spurs should sign Clarke.

Maybe it was flash in the pan, I once thought that Garry Brady, Mark Yeates, Danny Hill and Mark Gower would be the Waddle, Hazard, Gazza and Hoddles of their time. But I believe that if he has the ability and bravery to play that way just once at a pretty high level, then he can become great.
