I think once we're able to get Ndombele behind Dele then we'll be sorted with Dele at 10.
The bale comment was I thought he would be the best left back in the world and doesn't have the abilities to play further forward.
Dele did play well yesterday but the space he had I wouldn't expect him to get it when we play at home for example so I still don't think we should be all banging the drum after one performance even if it was an encouraging one.
Im hoping that happens and ND manages that area. Do you see him in Eriksens spot or more Dembeles etc?
I hope Dembele because then we can still fit Dele, Son, Kane and 1 more attacking player which I hope is Lo Celso but can see why people want Ndombele in Eriksen position. I think we all hoped Eriksen could move further back into a modric role but he didn't have the mettle for it.
I don’t remember what you said about Bale, but if was along the lines of what I’m now inferring, then I’m sensing a trend with regard to talented but I consistent young footballers
For what it’s worth, my uncle once said he’d drive Bale to whoever would take him for free.
He was arguably the third best player in the world at his peek. He was unplayable and played like a force of nature.Bale was a funny situation. You see he could tackle and run but early he looked awkward running. I think it was Redknapp that didn't know where to play him.He didn't look like a back or a winger but when he got the chance he changed the paradigm of those positions
If Ndombele can that will be great but Im not sure if he has legs yet to play two way.He is sensational going forward and capable defensively I think but if he can put it both together would be great. Dembele was limited (or made limited by Poch) on going more forward, critical passes etc. NDombele has that great talent. The question is can he do both physically?
Im happy if ND can give those attacking contributions whether he is in Dembeles or Eriksens positions
Yeah I do agree he has limitations in that area, it's whether you coach and develop him or decide he's not that type of players. There's the possibility that Lo Celso does that Dembele job whilst Ndombele is in the Eriksen role as a 10 but that moves Dele out of position yet again. good options to have though.

Dele played well yesterday but let's not rewrite history, he's been slowly building up to that performance for a while. In his last few performances under Poch you could see it wasn't going to be long before the old Dele was on his way back it's just that the team were generally low on confidence so it was hard to get any kind of consistency.
Maybe that's true but attack wise,Dele was unleashed yesterday much more like we saw Dele of a couple of years ago. While under Poch he was getting better after the injuries but what was most notable then was his quality defensively in the channels. Its only a sample of one game and against a weaker defence but weaker defences never hurt great players in only helped them in other leagues like Spain and Italy against weaker teams.
It was a great attacking performance by Dele. Thats down to Mourinho who openly challenged him too
It's not about great coaching sessions though is it. He's just taken the shackles off is all and it worked wonders. He played well. But come on, he's had 2 training sessions with Mourinho and naturally you get a bounce with a new manager anyway so let's hold off sucking off Maureen just yet.

The thing with Dele is that he is an instinct player. The more you ask him to do, the more he has to think about, and then the less effective he becomes. He had far too much put on him from a defensive pov under Poch and that means he can't just do what comes natural. He was far from the only one either. Trips hated his role and more so the responsibilities he was asked to do as a full back. He couldn't understand why he was being told to play so high up the pitch when his delivery from deep was so good, and he didn't have the pace to recover. He was vocal about it, and that's why he was moved on.
Thing is pochs philosophy was actually very simple in the beginning. Hard and high team press, move the ball quick flood the box on a counter attack. The the last 18 months or so it started to get all technical with each player being given lots of different duties. Throw into the mix formation changes and players playing regardless of form and that's why they lost faith.
I'm really enjoying how painful you're finding this.He played well. But come on, he's had 2 training sessions with Mourinho and naturally you get a bounce with a new manager anyway so let's hold off sucking off Maureen just yet.
