If we start selling committed players like Lamela no matter his injury record then this club will go backwards because the Nq 1 targets for the moving on of players should be the ones that don't want to be here No2 those not good enough and the you can worry about injury prone but committed players .
Darren Anderton had an injury record that was always lambasted by some spurs fans but he was in that period he was here our No1 performer and still played getting onto 400 games for us .So for me substitute sick note for legend .
As for Lamela when on the field of play he always gives 100 % and for me that is always the main aim of a player 100% .
There are plenty here that are capable of giving much more than they are at this moment in time but if these players that have been coasting thru games were fully committed we would not be talking about if we can make 4th place instead we would be nailed on for 4th.

Glad to hear the reports were finally open to selling him. Been a few years too long.

We've been having about four years with similar reports.

I do suspect this will be his last season with us, but I do hope he has enough time to make Mourinho love him so he, then, can convince Levy into offering Erik a new contract for five more seasons at least.

It's no use having a player give 100% if he's only fit for 50% of the games. He's been here 7 years and has averaged 4.5 goals and 6.3 assists a season. For an attacking mid that's awful. No issues with moving him on, we have to make non-homegrown space in the squad and raise funds for Jose. Thanks but bye.

This should be here.

And consider King only got his knee problems in the last 3 years, that even more mental.

It’s why he has to leave, and I can fully understand why the club wants to sell him.

I don’t care if he is really like able or works 100%. He is the 7 most expensive player in our squad in regards to wages. He’s not showing that at all, injures or not.

1. Nobody will buy him.

2. Nobody will pay his wages.

3. He seems to like it here.

Possibly the last player we should invest time and energy in selling.

He could be super if fit etc

Don’t agree with points one or two at all

We've had so many problems with long term injuries (Wanyama/Dembele before him/Dier etc.) We desperately need to start healing the wounds of the squad. Lamela is of prime age, and HAS improved his play from a few seasons ago, but we can't afford to carry him through the next few seasons.

Gotta make some tough decisions.

He needs one full year with Mourinho at the helm- meaning, the remainder of this season plus all of the next one. If he misses an inordinate amount of time next season -for any reason- then fine, move him on. However, if Mourinho can figure out the right way to handle him--which would mean training him, teaching him, talking with him, putting him in, starting him, occasionally holding him back and just generally getting to know him for an entire campaign- including the all-important summer pre-season-- and then, even after all that he still reverts to type and misses an abnormal amount of matches due to injury-- then fine, jettison him at last. I just want to see the combination of one of the world's best managers teamed up with a guy who- when healthy- pretty much ticks every possible box a player could have.

Lamela is magic; absolute, unadulterated magic. He fights harder than any player I have ever seen play for us. He is pure warrior. He is a filthy Spur- one who bleeds Tottenham blue- a guy who never, ever backs down from anyone, at any time, in any match, ever. Yes, I know: he is injured so often that it is horrible. Yes, I know: he could be Lionel Messi combined with David Silva and Marcelo and it wouldn't matter a jot if he never saw the pitch. I promise you all: I agree. Even I- his biggest supporter- almost can't take it any more. But unlike many of you lot I want him to play one full season under Jose. Again: if it ends up being the same as it always has- he's the best player on our team from mid-August through mid-septezer, after which we don't see him until late February- I'll throw my hands up, join you guys and wish him well in Italy.

But grant me my one last wish, please. I live in hope.

We really miss lamela's balls! I mean that in every way you can take it, he drives this team on and adds intensity to all the players around him. I wish he could stay fit.
