If we don’t address the fundamentals this window, the top 8 is a distant dream:

We have to buy a decent DM- the Sissoko/Ndombele/Winks/Lo Celso/Dier/Eriksen project needs to be euthanised. A purpose built, technically and strategically able DM, around which one or two other midfielders can play is absolutely required.

An excellent CB is also needed. The Vertonghen/Toby partnership is creaking more and more.

A decent RB- Aurier is not a butterfly waiting to merge from the chrysalis.

This fixation with Dele the saviour. He’s just not good enough to carry the team and needs rotating/ competition.

This ridiculous obsession with long balls. We’re not thugs, so it doesn’t work for us. If anything, it weakens us as it’s a much easier strategy to deal with if you’re the opposition and you know what’s coming.

Moura needs dropping. He’s ridiculously inconsistent. Get Clark or Parrot on the pitch- hungry kids that will graft like their futures depend on it.

Is it safe to say it was the players now?
Nope, not yet I don't believe. But when the masses recognize it and get their torches and pitchforks out and no one will safe. Just ask Poch.

These players are good enough so just give them time. Otherwise folks will have to give Poch credit for the overachieving of the previous 5 years that they conveniently forgot about.

This squad is toast, but it's now been a year and this football team lacks identity.

I'd be more worried about going to Middlesborough on Sunday rather than against 'Pool.

How many times is this piss poor team going to get out fought this season. The players are an embarrassment to the club and sadly most of them probably couldnt care less.

just watched the goal again - Vertonghen made absolutely no effort to stop it, just jogged along

Tbf Chelsea and Spurs are so polite... 'you take 4th' 'no we insist you have it' they're having the same argument every week...

Pochettino had NO chance with this lot. Feel so sorry for him. We had one of the best managers in world football and we sacked him. For what?? The change that was needed was getting rid of players like Eriksen, Dier, Aurier, Vertonghen, Wanyama, Rose and Dele. Poch will never forgive us for what we did to him, after everything he did for us. Mourinho wont last 18 months.
"Poch won't ever forgive us for what we did to him" Such a drama queen. As if we're the first team to ever sack a manager.

What about when we got thrashed 5-1 by an already relegated Newcastle? Do you think maybe that might have been a teeny tiny bit worse than losing 1-0 against Southampton?
I reckon we should get into a "my coach/manager of choice is better than yow's" pissing contest between the fans while Levy does fuck all during another window except ask for prices for players on short contracts that nobody would ever offer.

I know there weren't many options available, but the other night Kane and Alli looked absolutely shagged and it was like playing with 9 men. They could barely move. What are we then expecting with another game in quick succession? They offered even less today, and the icing on the cake is Kane does a hammy - which when you're so demonstrably fucked and can barely run in the last two games, had to be a massive increase in risk of doing himself some bother. I don't think that was sensible management. And it's not like we've even picked up the points running them into the ground.

Just to mention Sessegnon LO Celso / Ndombele / all signed by Poch
Sessegnon ????????
Lo Celso infective
Ndombele hardly a warrior and never fully fit
Nice leaving present from Poch .
What do others make of these signings for myself I have been crying out for them to start. I was wrong .
Maybe time for Parrot / Skipp/ Tanganga. could they do any worse I don't know anymore .

Post like this always come out after a defeat. Seriously will the same thing be said if we win by grinding out the results, never mind a good performance?

The fact that the performance is still so screwed just shows us clearer that the most of problems lies in the players now, not so much of the coaches. But Poch sympathisers need to move on, really.

What can he realistically do though? Today was his 11th game since he took over 6 weeks ago. Around 2 games a week has given him very little time to improve things.
He could drop aurier at the minimum, not start a very limited Lucas every time and maybe try protecting our wide open Defense?

Should have stuck with Poch and fucked off the players.

I said he made these players look better than they are and he should be last out the door at the time the pressure was on, but the mob on this site declared him a flukey manager who could only motivate and mourhino the winner would get this top top squad winning big games
He said the squad needing rebuilding and the time to do it but the pitch forks were out in force, rebuild the squad?? This is the best squad we've had they said, Poch is just making excuses lol

Well enjoy Jose, Absolute has been of a manager who's best days of tactically being superior are well over
