On paper it makes sense. Tall target man that is happy to put himself about for the team and gets on crosses. Sounds like Jose. For Levy it's a 24yo at a price you can probably recoup from another PL side in 6-18 months if he doesn't work out.

Must admit the fresh link to Moussa Dembele at Lyon sounds a lot more enticing but that price quoted by the sun sounds about right for a backup ST. Dembele would cost big money.

The big worry for me about Piatek is how some of our Polish fans seem to hate him. Usually it's the compatriots that blindly support their player. Although the do have Lewandowski as the benchmark tbf.

If it turns out to be true we have been decisive knowing that there is little other opportunities that will arise in this window.

His contribution could be the difference that gets us a CL finish.

You don't get much in the way of strikers for £28m.
This could well end up being a very good deal.

Piatek is an old fashioned striker and it’s something we’ve missed at times. It’s also criminal that we’ve only one recognised out and out striker at the club. Kane works hard for the team and is as much a creator as a goal scorer but his increasing forays into midfield were leaving us with no one up top. I think Piatek will be a very astute signing, he offers something different to Kane and has the ability to be a success in the EPL as he’s both a threat with his feet and head. Circa £30m in this day and age is a steal. If he’s a success I’m sure his 3 1/2 year deal will be extended in the next 12-18 months.

A young backup to Kane sounds fine to me. I don’t watch enough football anymore to know if he’s a really smart purchase, but given our current situation, I’ll take this happily.

He needs good passers around him to be useful and he likes to dive, not bad for 30m these days but I wish we had better scouting.

Janssen mk.2 as far as I am concerned.

Let's all hope it's genoa-Piatek we're getting but frankly I think it's likely we'll be let down

It's their one of the Sun's senior editors and they've plastered it all over their back page - would be a bit weird to do all that if there wasn't even a semblance of truth/info.

I'm a bit 'meh' about this ... but I know I'll still be absolutely fuming when this deal falls through. ?
