may be silly but i reckon we're still in with a shout if things fall our way. think it depends on the eriksen exit and also think mendes is keeping us informed.

As I say, it's just a theory. I'm happy to entertain it cos I want us to sign Bruno and whilst JJ is not poo pooing it then I'm willing to believe.

even if Eriksen is only on 60k pw, thats still £360k and 15m (maybe up front). Not the kind of money to sniff at even if it does seem like small amounts in todays market.
What's the £360k made up from? That's 6 weeks wages? If he doesn't leave this window we will be paying him until July which is 5 months wages.

As long as we match United's price, I genuinely believe he will come to us. United are not striking me like they desperately want to wrap this deal up. I believe Bruno much prefers us for different reasons. One stated above

Never underestimate the potential of Ed Woodward to drag a transfer negotiation out as long as possible and then pay everything the selling club was asking for in the first place...

if he goes to ManU it because we didn't want him according to our ITK guru which I'm OK with, we don't know what other conversations are happening

maybe we see other priorities such as a quality DM

This probably goes some way to explaining why a deal is so difficult, even for United. Makes Sporting's hard stance much more understandable.

Guess its time to loan him for 20m with an obligation to make it permanent in 8 years for another 20m and they get Victor Wanyama in return and Anthony Georgiou.
Refuse that!

If we rate him and mourinho wants him then get him.

Eriksen off to inter for £15m, add £45m and spread the payments.

He’s offered £98k a week by utd apparently so we can easily match/beat that.

No point keep going for cheaper, inferior alternatives if your top target is available.

No way we paying that
Why? If he's the main man Mourinho wants, plus Eriksen leaving, I see no reason why we wouldn't. He'd have to tbh, he wouldn't have bought Mourinho without knowing he's gonna be paying out some dollars.
