Bale carried us in his last season here. Also dragged Wales to a European tournament (and then to the semis) not to mention countless goals in big games for Madrid. He could be the difference between a write off season or top 4 and a trophy. No brainer if possible

Why Trix specifically on bale?

Sorry for the late reply. As Trix alluded to in the ITK thread he has been pretty vocal against the Bale moves in the past, even where the other ITKs have suggested otherwise. Hence why I was interested to see what he has heard.

Well we should soon be up to the magical 100 pages, that's when it all happens.

On the image rights thing - the issue with Dybala was that someone else owned them as he flogged them when he was younger. If someone amenable to this deal owns the rights then they’re not a problem (I think?)

Yeah I believe that to be the case. Dybala was advised to sell them to his original agent who retained them after Dybala changed agents. Sounds like it was his meal ticket and not something he would give up easily, or cheaply.

You'd hope a deal with Bale would be simpler to resolve for sure.

Do some still think he still a bit of a Jonah ?

FFS Baley has a certain ring to it.

I'm in the pro camp btw. Haven't smiled since 1st June 2019.

January 31st at 11am, the inevitable “Was always a difficult deal. Can’t blame DL on this one. Had deal agreed then Madrid moved the goalposts”. It’s the hope that kills us. That being said I want Bale back so badly. ?

Bale is a left back and should always be a left back.

Will people on this board and other board's who suggest he should play as striker get real. He does not have a trick or the electric pace to play up front.

The key to this is the details of the deal and whether he can stay healthy. i would love him back but not at any price. What he adds to the team is exceptional. An understanding of the mentality to succeed at the highest levels, capabilities that would create space for the players around him, relieving pressure on whoever is our left back as the right midfielder would likely have to track back more often and did i mention the space he creates as his presence forces defender to keep a second eye on him in case he moves into their area? Add his finishing ability to the mix, the possibility to mentor some of the younger players and the global recognition of the club from a fan and a players perspective, its a huge win. (If he can stay healthy and the deal is good) fingers crossed.
