Totally disagree with your assessment and comments. Guy is mustard, very intelligent, technically sound.

I do think he looks good - just not as good as Memphis Depay looked when at PSV (he was also a couple years younger).

I'm sure he'd be a great signing for us...if it doesn't all go tits up... :cautious:

Very tidy ball carriers in the age range of 20-24 seems to be the rebuild of the squad and the way Spurs will be looking to play football for the foreseeable. Gio, Ndombele, Gedson and now this guy, quick passes and breaking of lines, plus the age range should allow players to learn together over the next few years

I will say Bergwjin is technically a good player like many dutch trained player with extra pace power cultured right foot...just did not see it as a priority signing with both Son Moura (Clarke in the wings) however the way we seem to operate if the opportunity presents itself ie Eriksen by all accounts seems to be going ahead we need to act.

Lo Celso many see as an Eriksen replacement personally I hope not because I'd love Lo Celso to play CM with Ndombele.

Yeh there is always a risk with getting players from the dutch league. Particularly as the real talent of PSV last season, Lozano, has yet to really impress at Napoli. But with the price quoted I think he would make a good addition. Depay, btw was and remains a great player who failed to adapt to Man Utd, which is something that can be said about half of that team. Depay's time at united really doesn't reflect his quality.

Don't know how good this guy is - hope he is the business.

BUT. For the whole season I have been complaining about our front 4/5 all being versions of the same thing, with varying quality. Son, Moura, Lo Celso, Lamela, Dele - all of them are head down, go forward with the ball merchants (varying degrees granted). I have been crying out for someone with vision in the midfield to be able to stop with the ball, see the bigger picture and then control and pass - Carrick, Modric, (dare I say Henderson). Is this guy this or is he another version of the above we already have? PS - I don't discount Sissoko or NDombele in this above either - they are borderline. This guy may well be better than all of them, but is he a fundamental priority?

I have 3 priority positions on the field and his probably isn't one of them. Totally on board with it as long as the rest is being addressed also.

I totally agree. My concern was we’d be spending 60m sorting it.

If we can get this guy for half that it would be incredible.

Add a DM, a striker and ideally a RB (highly unlikely) and we’re well in business IMO
I think we’ll go for a striker as well and leave DM, CB, and fullbacks for the summer
