I think this will be one of those breakups where at the minute both sides are just focusing on the negatives and have forgotten all the good stuff that happened since he joined us and how he has been a legend for us (in my opinion he should be remembered as that) and that by some stage next season he will start to be remembered properly for his contribution.

Best of luck out in Milan

Yep a bit like Modric when he went. Eventually people realised what we once had

Wait until he starts pulling out of tackles and phoning it in, those ultras will be far less patient than we have been.

Not bitter about it which is a sad indictment of his last year/18 months as prior to that i'd have been seriously fucked off that we him go/he left.

Wonderful player for years but ultimately legacy ruined by the sheer drop off in performance.

All the best.

I think he'll be bang up for it as he was naturally trying to avoid getting injured the last 12 months or so, he'll be back to gung ho eriksen now i think and he should tear up the Italian league.

The most important player during our top years. Yes more important than Kane in my opinion. But his head has been somewhere else the last couple of seasons. He is truly a football genius and a hard worker, often in top of most meters runed in the games. Just sad it ended this way, would have been better if he left this summer. Thankfully we now have GLC and I hope he will be as good as Eriksen and stay for as many years.

He will absolutely destroy Serie A. Almost certain he will go back to how he was playing a few years ago.

Agreed. Eriksen's style suits Italian football. More time and space for technically proficient players. As he gets older he’ll evolve into a Pirlo-esque maestro conducting play and spraying passes all over the pitch. Provided he puts the effort in and gets back to his best, they're going to love him over there.

He's been so sub-par for so long that i'm intrigued to see whether he is able to quickly turn it on again for Inter or if this is actually his new level. Wouldn't be out of the realms of possibility that he's actually run himself into the ground with so much football from a young age and lost his magic before the age 30 - in a similar way to Alexis Sanchez when he moved to Man U.

I'd forgotten Sanchez was at Inter as well. He seemed to start the season well before his injury.

I don’t think he will be at inter long. He’ll still have his eye on Spain and jump at the first chance he gets. He’s not going to have changed his mind over going there when he was so keen in the summer.

He's class, one of my fave ever Spurs players, gutted to see him go but glad the saga will be over soon and wish him all the best, beautiful very 'Spurslike' footballer. Real shame he couldn't win something with us.

I wonder if there is a release clause in his new deal for the big two, just in case. Inter are getting him at a bargain price so may have agreed to one in the 60-80m range.

True, if he does well I can easily see Barca/ Real becoming interested again.

No animosity from me and wish him well
But he had become really frustrating to watch and if i am being honest a tad too half arsed for me to continue watching without loosing my patients with him.
Thanks for the memories don't let the door hit you in the arse on the way out.

You either give it you're all for the club or get the feck out for me.

A bit of a sideways step was it worth running his contract down for.

I am not so sure it is all about the football with Eriksen. He made a big deal about the cultural aspects of living in London when he 1st joined Spurs. I think Milan suits him for those and playing reasons. I also think he has a lot of 'miles on the clock' he has played non stop since not long after his 17th Birthday for Ajax and Spurs and Serie A will suit him pinging the ball around uncontested at a snails pace.

It's a shame he was booed at his last few games and really sad he wasn't given a proper send-off but I understand it's more supporters frustration with the protracted transfer and his performances. He's given the club 7 years, which for a player of his talent, is more than enough. People move on and I reckon he'll do brilliantly in Italy.

With hindsight, we should've sold him as soon as he said he wouldn't sign to get the going rate for someone of his talent and reinvested it. Probably wouldn't be in the squad rebuilding we are now.

The interesting thing for me here, is that having run his contract down so far, he wouldn’t wait 6 more months and bank a huge signing on bonus as a transfer fee wouldn’t be needed.
Clearly well out of love with Spurs
